Enochs High teacher resigns after leaving wife, kids for student, 18

MODESTO -- A 41-year-old Enochs High School teacher in Modesto has resigned and moved in with an 18-year-old student.

The reaction has been largely shock, disapproval and betrayal.

The teen's mother has waged a very public campaign on Facebook since last week, when her daughter moved out of the family's home and into a Modesto apartment with the man. He has left his wife and children, one of whom is a junior at Enochs.

Modesto police are investigating whether there was inappropriate contact before the girl turned 18 in the fall.

And school district and teachers union officials worry that an ethical and moral line has been crossed, even if the student is legally an adult.

I don't see my GF as a "mother figure" and I bet younger women dating older men don't either. I'm 26 and my GF is 44.

You will regret this at age 50 or 55, when she is 62 or 67. Cut this out and paste it in your scrapbook, and check it in 25 years. If you make it that long. Be sensible.

But my math was way off. You will regret this when you are 42 and she is 60, or you are 47 and she is 65. If not before.

People should look at male-female relationships in other countries. Most men are older than females in relationships. Its natural! I thought age is just a number. father figure...blah blah blah. If you are religious, hasnt this been practiced since the beginning of time? Maybe leaving his wife and children is not very responsible. But the age issue really is something stupid to get all bent out of shape about. Hugh Hefner runs around with multiple gf’s in their 20’s and he is praised. Maybe an 18-year old is too immature for her, maybe the his older wife is not very attractive anymore. SO WHAT!

—Oh crapola. I don’t see my GF as a “mother figure” and I bet younger women dating older men don’t either.—

Males and females have been created with different physiology’s. Men don’t see older women as women see older men.

If I were a betting man, I’d take that bet, but you would probably need to get the answer from the younger women’s psychiatrists, rather than the younger women themselves. They probably don’t even realize it themselves. In fact, they almost certainly don’t.

Hint: When you are 40 and still hot to trot, your gf will be 58. Do the math, Einstein.

Well, she has the bod of a early 20 year old, extremely fit and her face is very young looking. Most people say she looks like she is in her early to mid 30's. She pumps iron 4 days per week and runs nearly every day-that is how we met, in the gym. (We also lived right door to each other) She will be a be a hot 58 year old LOL

No one is forcing me or her into this relationship. Both of us never entered into this lightly and we even backed off at one time but went back together after a short time apart. We have been together romantically for 14 months and we were friends for a long time before that.

Besides lovers, we are best friends, our hobbies and interest in life are the exact same. We are on the same page in just about every facet of life. I see friends my age with materialistic sloots and hear gripes from older male friends with wives that are complete beotches who give them sex maybe once every 4 months after completely begging at their feet. No Thanks. I could do way, way worse.

Happy with who I am with and that is all that matters.

You are dangerously naive.

Especially if you think "14 months" is necessarily significant.

Are you prepared to stay with her should she develop health problems as she nears or passes 60?

(You'll be entering your prime for attentions from the younger lasses at that point...and she will be *keenly* aware of it as well as of her declining powers of attraction.)

Why don't you make an honest woman of her?

Or are you going to demand that other people pay for her birth control pills so you can continue merrily rutting away in sin without fear of consequence in the form of storks?

Cheers@!

You are dangerously naive.

Well you don't know how strong our relationship is.

Are you prepared to stay with her should she develop health problems as she nears or passes 60?

Yes

(You'll be entering your prime for attentions from the younger lasses at that point...and she will be *keenly* aware of it as well as of her declining powers of attraction.)

Women occasionally hit on me right now and she sees it. Yes, I know it bothers her but I want her and she knows it.

Why don't you make an honest woman of her?

I'm more up for marriage than she is. She was divorced and has no interest in marriage at this time.

Or are you going to demand that other people pay for her birth control pills so you can continue merrily rutting away in sin without fear of consequence in the form of storks?

She can't get preggo. Has some type of fibroids in her tubes??? can't remember the medical term. Main reason why her ex left her. He really wanted kids and married a coworker. So no cost out of your pocket for BC.

I don't think God has any problem with people who are in a committed relationship expressing their love for each other. 90%+ of people do this. I think God has more important criteria for getting into Heaven. How well you treat people on earth and lead your lives being honest, loving etc.

Darkwing, Sarge, TOL, 50mm: Please consider the posting at this link especially the last paragraph.

Given the pat smugness of your answers (combining fatuous sententiousness with gross ignorance in a manner reminiscent of Soledad O'Brien) you are likely one of the narcissistic children weaned on the William Ayers-inspired public school "self-esteem without morality" pablum.

Your age as listed upthread, 26, is consistent with this.

I don't think God has any problem with people who are in a committed relationship expressing their love for each other. 90%+ of people do this. I think God has more important criteria for getting into Heaven. How well you treat people on earth and lead your lives being honest, loving etc.

Then you are utterly, finally, eternally, and irretrievably WRONG.

Neither morality nor salvation are determined "by popular consensus."

I think you're a troll: any REAL conservative would not have answered in this way.

People should look at male-female relationships in other countries. Most men are older than females in relationships. Its natural!

And most of us are descended from people who wanted to escape from those "other countries." Liberals love to "wax-poetic" about the beauty and virtue of "other countries."

If the moral decadence of these "other countries" is so superior you should move there and leave us poor, backwards, repressed troglodytes live our lives by our own moral beliefs and stop trying to force your ways upon us.

I thought age is just a number. father figure...blah blah blah.

The "blah blah blah" part is the closest thing to rationality in your post.

If you are religious, hasnt this been practiced since the beginning of time?

The Bible talks about a lot of things. Not all of them are intended to be emulated.

Actually, the daughter would be kept by her family, protected from predators such as this alleged teacher, until she entered into the arranged marriage. Women in such countries are not allowed unless they are accompanied by a responsible male reletive.

Is that what you are advocating? You can't have it both ways.

Additionally, the Bible condemns adultery. The teacher, a married man, cheated on his wife with a teen-aged girl. Are you still praising his moral superiority?

Maybe leaving his wife and children is not very responsible.

Do you think he was wrong for abusing a position of power and authority?

But the age issue really is something stupid to get all bent out of shape about. Hugh Hefner runs around with multiple gf’s in their 20’s and he is praised.

Hefner is a creepy old man who helped facilitate the perversion of American society. That's why liberals, such as you, praise him. You won't find many FReepers praising creepy old Hugh.

Maybe an 18-year old is too immature for her, maybe the his older wife is not very attractive anymore. SO WHAT!

If the grand scheme of things, who one marries is one's own concern. Unfortunately, this creep abused a position of authority. He destroyed not only his relationship with his wife who built a life with him, but also with his children.

He has a daughter who is about this girl's age. Do you think his choice might harm her?

Now, take your liberal talking points back to DU, KOS or whichever cess-pool you crawled out from.

I think his "gf" is really his late grand-pappy's old "inflate-a-date."

Latex marriages are not yet legal in most states.

I’ve never been married and I’m terrified of the dating environment.

Actually,turned-off is more like it. Dating is not fun, even though it’s supposed to be. :(

I feel for his wife because I’m old enough to be one and I can’t imagine being left for another woman, especially an 18-yr-old GIRL.

:(

PBF, please don't give up. There are many decent guys out there going through the same apprehension you are.

You know how I met my gf. Almost everyone I know met their GF/BF/spouse not from a initial formal date as strangers but through mutual interest and hobbies and most were friends first. Initial dates when both parties are strangers for the most part are as you say scary and most don't work out no matter what eharmony and match.com say.

A friend of mine who I hike with on the local trails is in his early 30's, never married and was also about to give up. He volunteers a few Saturday's each month for 3-4 hours at the local state park as a trail nature guide. He met his gf last year when there was a volunteer clean up from the winter storms and she also happened to volunteer. They worked together all day and they went out for coffee afterwards and they just hit if off.

Most people say they met their mate when they least expected it. The key is to be out doing something you enjoy and that really takes the pressure off and breaks the ice.

I belong to a local runners group and can't tell you how many people have met there. Mutual interest brings people together.

Thank you for the PM.

Mrs Bear and I were both divorced and through with “the dating scene.”

I had gone to night clubs but soon became convinced I had “freak magnet” tattooed on my forehead.

Mrs Bear and I found each other after we quit looking and simply got on with living.
