Posted on 03/02/2012 10:46:28 PM PST by waterhill
Started tonight. I will be there tomorrow with my Galway Girl. I will be wearing my Rattler Hat (I don't do kilts). There is a Scot Village BTW.
Good Music and Food.
Dallas Fair Park. C ya there.
Call me by my screen name and I'll buy you some haggis.
Is that supposed to be a threat? :)
Only if you don’t like haggis. lol
I recommend the hurling. (Not the kind that you get after you drink too much.)
You know... your haggis tradition would be very much improved by substituting beef and tomatoes. We call it it chili here in Texas, try it sometime.
Your an Irish too?
When is this shindig?
What was Fair Park selected as the venue? It’s not exactly in an Irish neighborhood (to say the least).
I am Scot. She is Irish. We get along just fine. lol.
I don’t know
Aw Jeez I might not attend
I hate the darn city, I hate to cross the Lake Wylie Hubbard bridge on I 30.
Ah well, if I didn’t have other stuff going on and I had cot I might be there.
Yall have fun. It looks like a blast.
Well, be careful there and take advantage of our sane gun laws here in Texas. I stopped going anywhere near that neighborhood back in the 80’s. Fortunately, the weather looks to be a tad cool for the urban yutes to form flash mobs as is their wont in summer.
Same here, mylife. There are so many nice places, safe for the whole family, in the northern suburbs like Southlake and Flower Mound. They need to just turn Fair Park into a landfill.
That bridge is a killer. A “regular” on the traffic reports, lol.
The Irish Fest is a whole lot of fun. But I’m not the spunky little monkey I once was. If I can avoid Dallas, I will.
I have had a lot of fun in fair park but its a rough neighborhood.
It’s not the bridge per say.
I just tend to stick east of the city on the other side of the bridge.
Sometimes I blow through the city to get to the country on the other side.
Will there be “Corned Wild Boar”?
Thanks for the invite brother.
I don’t think so. I can only help you with ‘fresca’ porcine meat.
Ahem, wild p;g....they are tasty!
I’m a Hwy 80 kinda Freeper.:)But even that is becoming a pain in the backside. My work takes me to Dallas a couple of days a week and it is pretty brutal.
It seems that the population along I30 has outpaced the available travel space.
It is what it is, bro.
God Bless and take care.
Try that asian coconut soda on them.
I dont know what the deal is but they use that stuff on all kinds of meat and it works
I love I 30 but take a pocket full of time and be prepared to stop off in some tiny burg on the way for bbq.
I does get congested
Thanks again for the invite.
Be safe in your commutes..it’s a jungle out there! :)
Foster and Lloyd played here a few weeks back.
It was a big deal
Be sure to see Clandestine and say Hi to Emily for me.
I didn’t know about this!
I don’t think the mobs would enjoy taking on a bunch of Kelts, tough hood though.
Be safe & have a great time!
If I’d known sooner, I might have been able to attend. Been wanting to find an excuse to wear my kilt and Glengarry cap.
Yea, I had some friends go to it today. I was unfortunate enough to be stuck at drill this weekend, coming off 45hrs of work the past 3 days.
But I will be at TMR 16 next weekend up at South Fork Ranch :)
Not one incident on premises as far as I could tell. That area has been cleaned up alot since I was last there in the 90’s.
Dang, wish I could have seen those two again.
The Mighty KHYI 95.3!!!!!
They Rock! er well you know what I mean..
Its lasts till Sunday. Take some time off, pay yourself first and all, yada yada....
We will be there again tomorrow.
The ‘hood’ is a cakewalk nowadays. We drove around and felt good about it, and not because we were armed and dangerous (though we were!). It has undergone a transformation it seems. I, for one, was shocked.
You must be a lot younger than I am! At my age, my vision and reaction time aren't what they used to be. Anyway, I'm glad you had a good time there and were safe.
Haha yea they aren’t too bad :)
Three stations I listen to: KSCS, the Wolf, and the Range!
