Are we about to be stuck with Romney?

Posted on 03/04/2012 11:39:09 AM PST by Tulkas

After winning in Arizona and Michigan, and then again in Washington, Romney has momentum going into Super Tuesday. Even Ohio now seems to be a toss up. If he starts to wrap this thing up then just what exactly are we supposed to do?

I don't want to sit this out but I don't think I can vote for him. Is a third party vote worth it? It won't help get Obama out of office. I am starting to lose hope.

In my own county, Benton of Washington, Santorum or Gingrich would have won except that the vast majority of would-be voters were locked out of the caucuses (by Paul and Romney-ites).

If we are stuck with romney, then we are stuck with Obama, or his policies, no matter who wins in November.

Dave, your head is stuck up your nether regions. Romney is a liberal, but he's not a communist. It matters who wins in November. If people sit out the election or vote 3rd party, I will think of them as useful idiots.

Curious if the owner of this site has consented to your support of Romney as the nominee.

Are we about to be stuck with Romney?

The GOP is killing the country only slightly slower than the Democrats.

So is this the sixth state in which we have Romney cheating? I guess I need to add it to my list.

Iowa - had some one count his two votes as twenty so he could say he won the caucus

Florida - changed the day of the election to an earlier time so he could win while he was considered the front runner and changed the rules after the fact so that he could have a winner take all when every primary moved to before Super Tuesday was supposed to be proportional just so he could keep Newt from getting any delegates

Maine - called the voting early so he could claim he won

Virginia - made sure all the qualifying documents collected were “severely” scrutinized and Newt and Santorum would not get on the ballot

Michigan - changed the rules after the fact so that he picked up an extra delegate instead of the 50/50 split that was required

Washington - locked Gingrich and Santorum voters out of the caucuses

Are there any others I’m missing?

Long ago, I said the only way Mitt Romney could ever win the nomination is by cheating. He and the GOP-E are doing everything they can to make that true.

Cool map. Paul’s pulling the prairie dog vote. No wonder he gets so much media attention.

Actually I’d like to know which color is whom.

Lots of orange, everywhere near the state of Utah.

Just saying.

My first thought was, Mormons. But perhaps that orange is Paul votes?

Interesting lack of seemingly captive voters, for Romney if so...

No, Romney would not be as bad as 0bama. Not as good as, well most anybody else to the right of the political divide, but he may well be the candidate and anybody else won’t be. Sorry, but that’s just crazy to think he would be as bad as the big 0. Not good, but sure as heck not that bad.

We’ve been ‘Stuck” with Romney since the day Sarah Palin decided not to run.

He’s spent 4 years building an organization and support for this thing. Organization, GOTV, and MONEY wins the nomination, not debates, or wishful hopes.

The one thing I lament about FR, and the people on it, is how little actual ORGANIZING we do, to get our voice out.

Looking at that map again, I have to ask is Romney orange?

If so, everyone look at that map.

Look at where the orange is.

Is Romney’s “lead” a myth? Is it simply that Mormon states, are so far over-represented in the totals?

I see, a bunch of states each side of Utah, colored orange. Not a lot of orange elsewhere.

Is Romney’s lead an illusion?

I will cast the vote for the most Conservative candidate on the ballot
Since Obama is far more conservative than Romney--Obama was never able to deliver a public option with ObamaCare, Romney, famously, was able to deliver a public option and more!--then I would prefer it if you didn't vote at all.

For the rest of us, the only honest option to a Romney nomination is to vote third party or to write in a candidate.

Which gun grabbing socialist are you talking about, Romney or Obama?

None of the Republicans are Marxist. Sitting the election out or voting 3rd party is a vote for the candidate who is a Marxist. I wouldn’t dream of staying home.

Santorum would be a disaster, electorally speaking. If Newt doesn’t somehow find a way to fight his way back to the top, it looks like Romney will be nominated. It appears, to me, that the voters are warming to the belief that Romney is the most electable and that beating Obama is the goal.
