Open Question. What is the #1 reason your so down on Newt?

You are certainly assuming a lot in your post.

This has little to do with shame and certainly isn't dragging Gingrich down. If anything (at present), applying your logic with poll standings reflects how Gingrich is dragging down Santorum (a theory I also don't accept).

One of two things is occurring. Either the Country is (in fact) now more of a Liberal ideology, or money and organization (along with lots of media support) is influencing a dumbed down electorate. I subscribe to the dumbed down theory.

A Romney nomination is not only a disaster for Conservatives, it's a disaster for the entire Country as there's no way Romney defeats Obama....zip, zero, nada.

If this poll is indicative of a trend, and Romney does become the nominee, I don't know what our next step is. Do we pretend to support a terrible candidate (such as in 2008) all the way to an Obama victory or do we look for a Third Party alternative?

>> Romney can thank Gingrich who keeps being the spoiler

Nonsense. The morally aggrieved cast Newt’s lead aside to embrace Rick’s magic talking points.

As far as it concerns politics, Santorum is an establishment bit player; a humorless Bush reincarnate. Rick is a wonderful person, but he does not have the competence Liberty requires.

Hey, Santorum is in free fall and shock, while Newt has superbly performed, again, over the last several days everywhere he goes; CNN, Stephanopolis, NBC Gregory, CSpan. Handing these guys their head and teaching conservatism.

Lookin’ good, Newt!

I’m happy to see Newt back taking ground on his own terms, no matter what happens. I like his terms.

"Sharron Angle, Christine O’Donnell and now this santorum nutjobs. Conservatives have nobody but themselves to blame by selecting these mad dogs."

You got that right, santorum is Mr. Rogers without a spine. He was an establishment lap dog in the senate. After Newt took him under his wing, santorum turned on him and stabbed him in the back. Then to add insult to injury, santorum tries to take credit for Newt's accomplishments in the house.

Seriously? Mad dog like Santorum? Never vetted? He was a U.S. Senator for 16 years, did he just slip into that office without being vetted?

I’ll tell you what I told the other Newtonian, you’re only going to succeed in driving off Santorum supporters from Newt with these attacks. Is that your goal?

Newtie (the one who can't keep his pants zipped) trails Santorum, 2:1 in Ohio.

Only 2:1? I think it is like 6:1 here next door in Pennsylvania.

Not being able to control your schlong dose have consequences for a Republican doesn't it?

>> until all the Newt people

Amazing “all the Santorum people” neglect to recall how they “spoiled” Newt’s lead.

Do you seriously believe Santorum can beat Obama??

Senator Sharron Angle, Christine O’Donnell, where are you?
Santorum is crazier than Angle and O’Donnell.

How do you drag down the guy who can’t get 20% in the polls, and who rarely finishes above 4th place?

The only reality here is this:

Neither Newt NOR Santorum are able to beat Romney head to head.

They are BOTH regional candidates and MUST come together and make their ticket now.

Just the tow of them, go into a room, pray and flip a coin. And then come out united.

THAT will end the nonsense AND Romney.

Anything less. Anything other. MEANS Romney will win and then LOSE to Obama.

Holy atomic pile, Batman!

It is pointless to try to talk sense to ‘some’ of you Saintorum worshipers... you have gone way beyond goofy.

Why are people still getting away with posting fake headlines? THis is supposed to be a "twitter" link (which never really work), and the headline is an absurd mockery.

Here is the current RCP AVERAGE for Ohio, compared to the PPP poll:

Name RCP PPP
Santorum - 34.0 36.0 +2.0
Romney - 31.3 37.0 +5.7
Gingrich - 15.7 15.0 -0.7
Paul - 12.0 11.0 -1.0
Other - 8.0 2.0 -6.0
So, rather than "fading fast", Santorum just polled 2% ABOVE his current RCP average. Who faded? Newt Gingrich, by 0.7, and Paul, by 1. And "other", who are breaking to Santorum and Romney, unfortunately MORE for Romney.

Fading fast? What a stupid title.
