If you look at the numbers, Newt doesn’t have a chance of winning. But he has been attacking Santorum viciously, and it looks as if the result of that is that he may hand another state to Mitt.

A few people on a message board aren’t going to make a huge difference...if we had that much influence over the entire voting public (or even the party) 0bama wouldn’t be president now. People are simply getting to know Santorum better since he’s been in the spotlight. Personally, I find him to be rather whiny & self-centered and I’m not sure he has the backbone to stand up to 0bama. That’s my opinion after watching the debates and seeing the candidates on the stump. It’s the candidates responsibility to impress us enough to want to support them.

If it wasn’t for Newt, Santorum would have won Michigan and Washington. Thanks to Newt and his dismal 4th place win in most states, we will be stuck with Romney instead of the most principled, moral, family values candidate in 30 years. Newt knows this and is working with Romney to ensure he wins.

Sounds just like Newt. He is wise, smart, witty, and effective. Ricky? No comment.

Where and how has Gingrich been attacking Ricky viciously? I’m in Ohio and have seen no such thing. If Santorum “hands” another state to Romney it is because of the ridiculous statements he has made, his inability to finish a thought or sentence and his senate voting record.

Rick had Michigan wrapped up. He bombed the debate, had a series of foot in mouth moments and backtrack moments, and then couldn’t get enough liberal Democrat union votes to pull it out.

How about Rick’s team up with Romney that cost Newt Florida?

We didn’t have to do anything. Little Ricky just opened up his mouth and out poured the democrat ads. People are finally finding out just how shallow he is and how little he brings to the table. They are beginning to see why he lost by 20% in his last election to a man with room temp IQ.

You know, I've never had a problem with Newt or with Santorum. I would be happy to vote for either one of them. I'll never vote for Romney.

That said, I've been really turned off, for a long time, by very many of the Newt supporters on this site and elsewhere.

Ya'll are more abrasive, fanatic, and disagreeable than even the Paul-bots are.

You really are not doing your candidate (who is polling at half of what Santorum is) by being such constant a-holes.

Add that candidate Hoffman in NY to that list. Great conservative but disaster as a candidate. Which confirms my belief that a winning candidate is better than a losing candidate regardless of conservative purity. After they lose an election, they have zero power to push any conservative legislation or agenda. Newt probably recognized Hoffman was a disaster and refused to back him.

Unless Newt’s latest surge came come to fruition by Tuesday, Ohio goes to Romney. I suppose that in order to defeat Romney, one should be rooting for Santorum in Ohio; but because of Santorum’s ballot/delegate problems in Ohio, a two-man race between Mitt and Rick ensures Romney gets the victory no matter what.

We’ll have to wait another day and a half on Ohio. If Newt doesn’t rise enough, it would be better for Santorum to win, even though he can’t really win, just to deny Romney the headline.

On the other hand, TN seems to be a three-way-tie, if we are to believe the polls, and Newt is the legitimate best option. Newt has no delegate or ballot issues there, and Santorum does.

Strategic anti-Romney voting, if we could ever get it, goes like this right now:

Santorum in Ohio,
Newt in Tennessee,
Paul in Virginia,
Santorum in Idaho,
Newt in Alaska,
Santorum in Oklahoma (likely, but old polls, so hard to tell)
Newt in Georgia,
Paul in Vermont,
Your choice in North Dakota,
Forget Massachusetts.

This could all change in two days, I suppose. We’ll see........

Since Newt Gingrich is the freerepublic candidate, it isn’t really our place to not speak in behalf of him.

Santorum is OK with a Romney or an Arlen Specter Presidency, and Santorum was no fan of President Reagan, so Santorum wins no matter what, as long as it isn’t Gingrich.

That’s my take on it too. Nobody will convince me any of our candidates will be as bad as Obama. I voted at the WA caucus Saturday for somebody some here will approve of, but come November I don’t give a GD who our candidate is, I will be voting for him, to send that disrespectful A-hole back to Chicago

That is the Prime Directive

Huckabee didn’t hurt anyone, if anything he helped us defeat Romney that year.

You're happy Romney might win? You're the one helping Romney if you can't see Santorum must win Ohio in order to prevent him from winning the nomination.

No need to get angry because what’s going to happen is going to happen.

McCain was in better shape four years ago at this time than Romney is now.

But Romney has the GOP Establishment and the power of the political machine behind him.

They smeared Bachmann, Perry, Cain, Newt and Santorum to get him this far.

My angst is aimed at them.

The insiders and elites want to shove their national health care (Obamacare-Romneycare) down our throats.

Old Mitt will have the states administer the system after he
“repeals Obamacare” as he says.

Business wants a bailout from their healthcare costs and the political insiders of both parties oblige (Romneybama or Obamaromney).

Their money pumping up the smear machine on all Romney challengers had made this situation a reality period.
