Was Rush Wrong About What He Said, Or How He Said It?

Posted on 03/05/2012 7:18:01 AM PST by Why So Serious

I will start with, I did not hear either the student's testimony, or Rush's response. Nor do I care to listen to either. I know the two sides of the argument. Girl wants to have sex and thinks someone else should pay for her birth control. Rush thinks covering any part of the cost of the sex is what he said it is.

This is so stupid. I believe that golf is very therapeutic. Lord knows how relaxed I am when I am on the golf course [even when I am playing bad]. That said, tell me why my company's healthcare provider should not cover the cost of my tee time. Oh, and I love to have a glass of red wine when I get home in the evening. You know, it helps me unwind in the same therapeutic way. So I would also like to be able to purchase my wine using my prescription card. Need I tell you what tooling around on my pontoon boat does for me, in a therapeutic way?

I am sure that we can all make a short list of things we spend money on that more closely falls under the umbrella of health care than birth control pills.

I am in no way against a woman wanting to take birth control. In fact my wife did take it before we were married and for a while after we were married. Guess who paid for it? The person who should have.

Sorry to disagree, friend, but it's NOT about cost - that puts you already agreeing that someone should be forced to pay for that or any woman's "choice," it's about constitutional and morality!

I don't care how that woman chooses to use her time and her body but to demand that I cover the costs of her choice is absurd on it's face!

That was what Rush was saying using words in an earlier time would have been calling her exactly what she is - a slut and a whore (the prostitute part fits as well in that she is demanding payment for her actions but not from her sleeping partners, whom she should have looked to in the first place, but to me!)

As I understand it, lots of insurance companies cover the cost of Viagra. Given that, I don’t think it is so odd—or in any way an indicator of “sluttiness”—for women to want prescription birth control to be covered as well.

Our insurance covers birth control, but NOT Viagra. I think it is the opposite of what you stated. Health insurance companies tend to cover female issues, but not male health issues. Think mammograms and PSAs (prostate exams). They've been ignoring men for a VERY long time. Some companies are just now getting on board.

Well at least we come out of this with a new adjective: "FLUKE" or FLUKED".....as in, she's a FLUKE, you've been FLUKED, etc.

Can be used in place of BORK or BORKED.

Why that girl even FLUKED Rush, and his sponsers are FLUKING him now.

Ms. Flukes theme song: "I can't get no, Satisfaction", Rush should play this song on his show, we will know the joke.

Got your attention. Maybe not so stupid.

Really?

What has been the focus of all the conversation about fluke's 'testimony'...her actions or Rush's comments?

Please explain to me, in detail, exactly how turning the conversation away from the free contraception issue to a public flogging of Rush (one that led to his apology) is a smart thing.

I agree. Bill Maher can call Sarah Palin a c*nt and a tw*t and that some how is okay. Nobody bats an eye.

How about the CNN gaff? Imagine if Fox had done this

I wonder if her Dental Insurance covers Dentures. Because that Gingival Recession she has is reaching critical mass.

OK, so men get partial subsidies on Viagra ~ and all that does is ENHANCE the female pleasure ~ so they should get 100% subsidies for themselves besides.

Really, you need to sit down and take a serious look at the options ~ for you.

The court is out on the “girl” part. Laz has not yet given us a ruling.

Rush has become careless or perhaps lazy. He has a true gift and the vocabulary and wit to say things without saying them. Mark Steyn would have had a much better delivery on the subject.

The Pill suppresses the normal functioning of the female reproductive system, and is properly categorized as a...

Poison.

Not surprisingly then, the rate of breast cancer in the west is up 65% since the 1960s.

I found clearcut stats for Japan, for example:

http://m.ije.oxfordjournals.org/content/24/2/285.abstract

Results. The age-adjusted mortality rate has been increasing since the 1960s (4.1 per 100 000 population in 1950 and 6.6 in 1991, adjusted by the world Population).

ED is most commonly a natural factor of old age, with the clock turned back by meds so old guys who are generally beyond the procreating stage can have sex again.

My point is pointing out the hypocrisy in the situation. Rush chose words poorly, which in inevitable when you speak on the airwaves for 15 hours a week to millions of listeners.

The attempt to remove him from the air is opportunistic and plays into the self-correcting character of conservatives.

Shall we politely all step aside as we all fall short on occasion and allow them to take our country and our freedom?

“I’m not talking about pre-approval. I’m talking about brainstorming”.

...”financial decisions” in your home aren’t ego driven. You’re also not ad libbing your finances. Everything Rush says is ad libbed. There are no scripts, just general knowledge of a subject and off he goes.

I was a radio talk show host for 25 years. There are thousands of us running around that you only know of if you live in the same city. And even as a small timer compared to Rush, I was totally responsible.

Rush is a unique talent surrounded by “lackey’s” who just want to say they work with Rush. Technically they’re very good and great with research and getting a cup of coffee for Rush. They have nothing to do with what is said on the microphone.
