Speaking as a dad with two grown daughters,I'll bet you are damn glad you let her ride so many times and probably would have gone up to a 1000 times!

That goes without saying. The comments from the Curmudgeon Crowd (which includes me) are apparently being taken out of context by several readers. Our comments have been made with tongue firmly planted in cheek.

I'll never forget taking my kids to Disney World when they were 6 and 4, respectively (19 years ago...yikes!). To see the smile on my daughter's face as she was hugging Minnie Mouse, it still brings a joyous tear to my eye.

I've now been blessed with a grandson, and I'm looking forward to vacationing with him in a year or two.

I enjoy his songs having many of them on my 3 CD The Music of Disney: A Legacy in Song (CD, Sep-1992, 3 Discs, Walt Disney). As an annual passholder at Disneyland I still go on the Small World ride and also enjoy the songs from Mary Poppins that they sing in front of the castle.

IMHO, there's a special place in hell reserved for the person who wrote the tune for Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade.

Then I take it you wouldn't want to borrow my VHS copy of the parade to watch? I enjoyed that parade. My co-workers daughter was one of the dwarfs in it during the special California Adventure version of the parade.

The best parade at Disneyland that I enjoyed was the Lion King Parade.

Don't worry, my wife has everything from the last 25 years recorded! Thanks for the offer, though!

50 feet from the exit the ride broke down and we were stuck on it. For 2 hours. 2 seemingly endless hours with that God cursed song playing over and over and over and over again.

OMG... I can't imagine listening to that song over and over again for 2 whole hours! Yikes... what a story. ;-)

Oh no! It’s gonna be like Elvis, Etta James, and Whitney Houston’s deaths COMBINED!

That song is gonna be on the radio 24-7 for a solid month!!!

Oh, you all hate “It’s a Small World?” How novel. How observant and clever...

I don't care. The song still sucks.

I’d have found the first opportunity to electrocute myself after escaping from that Hell.

If I survived, the self-administered electro-shock therapy might have erased my memory of that horrid experience. And if not, I’d be dead and unable to recall it. A win-win.

I really miss Allan Sherman. He was the bonb and here is his song. Another one you can’t get out of your head. LOL

Hello Muddah, hello Fadduh,
Here I am at Camp Grenada
Camp is very entertaining
and they say we’ll have some fun if it stops raining.

I went hiking with Joe Spivy
He developed poison ivy
You remember Leonard Skinner
He got ptomaine poisoning last night after dinner.

All the counselors hate the waiters
And the lake has alligators
And the head coach wants no sissies
So he reads to us from something called Ulysses.

Now I don’t want this should scare ya
But my bunkmate has malaria
You remember Jeffrey Hardy
They’re about to organize a searching party.

Take me home, oh muddah fadduh, take me home, I hate Grenada
Don’t leave me out in the forest where I might get eaten by a bear.
Take me home, I promise I will not make noise or mess the house with
other boys, oh please don’t make me stay, I’ve been here one whole day.

Dearest fadduh, darling muddah,
How’s my precious little bruddah?
Let me come home if ya miss me
I will even let Aunt Bertha hug and kiss me.

Wait a minute, it stopped hailing,
Guys are swimming, guys are sailing,
Playing baseball, gee that’s better,
Muddah Fadduh please disregard this letter.

He was actually a Prophet...

With the advent of 24/7 Cable News, it really is a small world after all.
