She’s suffered too many lawsuits already. You know she doesn’t want or deserve another.

Apparently, because in private she says she wishes she could publicly help out Newt.

My bet is that she was told she wouldn’t violate her contract if someone asked her who she voted for in AK and she answered Newt.

But anything more than that would call for a breach of contract suit.

Apparently you can’t run for office or campaign for someone else per the contract.

The angering thing is that while under the cover of FNC analysts, others are helping Romney every which way they can.

Everyone can see it.

I believe Sarah is helping Newt to the extent her contract allows by making her commentary Newt friendly, and by saying who she voted for in her state’s primary.

Sigh...

True, just like Newt's campaign office said. Newt could have won Tennessee and Ok, I think but the media continues to say Newt has no chance. His office told me that the biggest hurdle is the media... because people at home, believe a lot of what the media reports. Those groups do not go to the net to read their news/they get all of the spoon fed (my words) news coverage from the local TV and their national pundits. Newt wants to get on Rush's show they said also. So many wrongs this election season. We have to help Newt obtain more delegates and wins so he can go to Tampa and fight to knock Romney out. I think that is his plan. He believes he is the best person to turn the country around to make huge changes (where Palin power comes in- unless she were to quit Fox before then and battle a Fox lawsuit-tho, Huckabee endorsed Romney) Nothing makes sense-other than the Fox people and those media groups want Romney/last time, they wanted Obama.

Sarah is the help we need; she is the only one who can counter the Dr. Dobson/evangelical push for Santorum. The ONLY person who could possibly convince some of the Christian right to go against Dobson’s endorsement would be Sarah. In the South, they are a sizable chunk of the electorate. But you’re right, it has to be BIG, like a huge rally or an interview with Sarah on Focus on the Family. Otherwise the majority of evangelical voters will simply never hear of it.

So true, great comments. Newt’s campaign was very respectful to Santorum’s campaign in our call. They know that Rick is getting that block. They are hoping some of those supporters understand the country needs leadership and experience. We need Sarah. The conservatives need Sarah. She in the Only one who can help Newt and conservatism to thrive and burst through. The Bush idea will never inspire enough people again.. Rick is right out of that era. He help to pass laws in which grew the government; not to reduce/ helping to get us where we are now. After Newt left, the spending went wild. I cannot reward for that; my conscience wants reforms.

Maybe she does not want to be fighting a lawsuit nor has the $$$$ to fight it. Pray something changes.

They told me that Palin wants to campaign for Newt but Fox will not allow her to/being tied to her contract. ( I wish that woman would leave Fox/ though, I accept it is her life) She wants to help him, I know.

I've seen a lot of people claim a lot of things for Sarah Palin, so I want to see actual proof of this. Sarah Palin has a twitter account and a Facebook page, and easy access to any number of talk shows.

If what is said here is true, I want to see a quote from her saying it. Not this 3rd-hand stuff. I'm not saying it couldn't be true, but it seems at odds with things she has said about her job at Fox not keeping her from doing endorsements for example.

But I think if someone is going to say that Sarah Palin is contractually prohibited from doing a campaign speech for a candidate, it should be Sarah Palin, not some offhand comment by a person from a campaign.

I know there are people here at FR who have access to Sarah Palin, so maybe one of them could confirm this.

Palin Says Brokered Convention Would Not Hurt GOP (says she can endorse) (February 11, 2012):
“My contract does not prohibit me from endorsing, thank goodness,” Ms. Palin said. “So I’m just like 60 percent, 70 percent of Americans still trying to decipher who’s best.”
So clearly, she can do more than just say she voted for Gingrich. As of February 11th, she had CHOSEN not to endorse, and said she was still trying to decipher who's best.

Maybe she has figured that out, although she still hasn't endorsed. But clearly her contract doesn't stop her from endorsing a candidate -- she said it didn't.

The question is, did she ever say the contract doesn't allow her to make a speech for a candidate. I think it would be remarkable if she was allowed to endorse a candidate, but not allowed to make a speech for a candidate. But I won't completely rule it out -- since Sarah can clearly talk about what her contract allows her to do, she could tell us if her contract keeps her from giving speeches.

I think it is better to let Sarah Palin speak for herself, rather than accept 3rd-hand information. It so often is wrong, after all (remember how many times people told us for sure that Sarah Palin was going to run?)

Apparently, because in private she says she wishes she could publicly help out Newt.

When did she tell you this? And was in in confidence, and if so, did you have her permission to repeat it here?

I ask them why won't Palin campaign for Newt/would he consider asking her to do so since we are running out of time to pick up delegates?

And I suggested how it would help him tremdemously.

The person on the phone at his office told me that she, Sarah could not/due to her contract. It was not because she did not want to. Take it for what's it worth. me, I believe what I was told today.

You can believe it, but I find a lot of people pretend to speak for Sarah Palin, and often they are wrong.

And since Sarah Palin has publicly stated that her contract does not stop her from endorsing, and I don’t think she is a liar, I will trust her over a campaign operative who might want to claim otherwise.

Why would she start doing campaign appearances for him without endorsing him? That makes no sense — so you’d expect that if she was already at the point where she WANTED to do campaign appearances, she would have already done the endorsement, which she says she is legally allowed to do.

Don’t get me wrong. I think it would be great for Gingrich if she did endorse him and started campaigning for him. And I’m not saying she wouldn’t do that. I’m saying that, absent a statement from her about a restriction in her contract, I don’t think I’ll take the word of a campaign operative on the subject.

It’s not even that I think the guy was a liar or anything — I just find that the people who answer phones for a campaign are not always that read in, and will say things to “help” the candidate without much regard to how true they are.

I might take it a little more seriously if Newt said it. Although I’d still expect Sarah to speak for herself — she’s quite good at it.

Hi Charles, until I see otherwise, I am going with what the spokesperson told me. It makes sense to me. She has been encouraging voters to lean toward Newt; then stops so close in endorsing him. All of the signals are there. Time will tell. I had been asking this office a number of times(why can't they ssk her to help since the media is corrupt) Yesterday, they gave me an answer. Take care.
