A Pierce County correctional officer is in trouble for marrying one woman, while still married to his first wife.
Alan O'Neill moved out of the home he shared with his first wife, changed his name and took up with another bride, without getting a divorce.
When O'Neill's first wife became aware of his second wife from posts on Facebook, she turned to his mother for help.
Pierce County Prosecutor Mark Lindquist said the man then returned to his first wife and admitted that, yes - he had married another woman.
If convicted of bigamy, O'Neill could spend up to a year in jail.
"Most of us find that one spouse is sufficient," said Lindquist. "I don't know why he wanted two."
Ha! We'll see what the public-service union has to say about that.
Confucius say man with 2 wives lose face [book].
Correctional Officer gets corrected?
He must be a Romney supporter.
Marrying a second wife while still married to the first was OK for Bill Clinton’s putative father, and OK for Barack Obama’s putative father. Why shouldn’t it be OK for this guy? Whatever happened to equal treatment before the law?
In an era of "gay" marriage, group think and group rights, who knows what the court may say about this.
“Confucius say man with 2 wives lose face [book].”
And the ORB say http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0H_rr9m9jaE
Why is it wrong for a man to have more than one wife?
Who decides who can love another and the circumstances?
Did you mean “IFF”, or was that a typo?
in maths, IFF = If and only if (Inclusive)
I was thinking in mathematical terms, BUT it was inappropriate for the topic. It should have been just “If”.
so one is certain of paternity? it isn’t always as obvious as Web.
Sigh. so hard to explain.
A few years ago, I met a man with seven wives. I was going to St. Ives at the time.
“Bigamy is one wife too many. So is monogamy.”
Isn’t the real story that this guy left his wife, changed his name AND WAS ABLE TO GET A JOB IN LAW ENFORCEMENT??????
The second wife is amusing though apparently he was not living or sleeping with two different women. So the bigamy is only technical.
But apparently he:
1. changed his name but not legally yet was able to get a job in law enforcement under a fake name?
2. or was working in law enforcement under one name, but living in the community under another?
3. or changed his name legally and still got a job in law enforcement because a sloppy investigation did not turn up his multiple wives?
Typically the MSMediots missed the story. But this is a much greater puzzle to me than the salacious part which in fact apparently was not happening.
Well, it’s just another lifestyle choice.
