Black women in six major U.S. cities have rates of infection with the AIDS virus that are five times higher than anyone thought, researchers reported on Thursday.
The findings stunned even the researchers doing the work – who already knew that the HIV epidemic in the United States is worse among blacks, and that young black women have a special risk.
“The fact that the rate for infections in these women is something like the rate in Congo is something that ought to get peoples’ attention,” Dr. Charles Flexner, a clinical pharmacologist and infectious-disease expert at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, who led the study, said in an interview.

“Most of these women were not active injection-drug users. The vast majority were heterosexual.” Some were trading sex for drugs such as crack, but not all.
“A lot of these women are just young, sexually active folks in their teens, 20s, and 30s whose sexual partners are HIV infected and they don’t know it,” Flexner added. More than 40 percent of the women had no idea whether their sex partners had HIV.

Several years ago, I was involved in a very minor accident in which I and another person were cut by the same sharp object. I went through months of testing and waiting (and taking coconut oil, glyceryl monolaurate, and BHT), before I got the all clear for HIV and a few other bloodborne things.
Being a scientist, naturally I read up on the various transmission probabilities (there wasn't a study on fishing accidents....) Anyway, ANAL "sex" was more than an order of magnitude higher than the next act. Really -- end sodomy, and the other methods of HIV transmission are probably not efficient nough to keep the epidemic going.
The inescapable conclusion is that anal sex is rife in the black community. That's why so many of their women are getting it. There's only one answer: repent.

It’s unfortunate, but the risk of infection from vaginal sex for the female is much higher than for the male, since it is transmuted through the exchange of body fluids.
The results of this study do not surprise me at all, considering that most blacks are not in a monogamous relationships.
They won’t ask the most obvious question....how many were engaging in anal sex??? This according to at least some researchers is why the homosexual community is so hard hit and why the African nations are too. It is (at least in Africa) a common form of ‘birth control’
At the time Obamacare was being pushed through I went to the CDC's website to look at the disease by race breakdown. Blacks, and Hispanics, have higher rates of most diseases than do whites. Blacks are <14% of the population but accounted for 43% of ALL American AIDS cases. The higher rates of diseases in blacks and Hispanics is, IMHO, the reason for Obamacare. So many poor people with diseases that cost a whole lot of money to treat was breaking the bank. The government needed to get all the healthy middle and high income people to pay for their treatment. We're not permitted a say on how people conduct their lives, but they sure want us held responsible to pay for their mistakes.

Disturbing article. One would think we are going to see an explosion in pediatric AIDS cases as these infected women have children and pass the virus on to their babies.
