ROME (Reuters) - A diplomatic row broke out between London and Rome on Friday over Britain's failure to inform the Italian government before launching a botched hostage rescue mission in Nigeria.
The raid resulted in the deaths of a Briton and an Italian held hostage by a militant Islamist group.
Chris McManus and Italian Franco Lamolinara had been kidnapped last May while working for a construction company in northwest Nigeria.

I just don’t get it. I’d go to Tijuana over Detroit myself.
Nigeria could be one of the wealthiest nations on earth if they would just stop the corruption. Natural resources (especially oil) are just so abundant, and yet the culture is still steeped in tribalism and corruption is in every aspect of life.
Liberal Progressive White People go to the places you mention. Just do a survey of the enlightened individuals like the ones that work for USAID. They spread our money around the world to people who wipe their a**es with their left hand.
And when they get kidnapped, hope that the people they hate the most, the MILITARY, comes and saves their asses. Just like Alan Grayson. I wonder if he hates the evil men of Blackwater after they saved him from getting his head chopped off.
I have hundreds of Nigerian born friends myself. Some of them are in the US and some are in Nigeria. I hope to go there some day and see the country.
MOST folks go for money though. They are hired for oil exploration, drilling, refinery engineering or refinery construcion and make good money.

Nigeria could be wealthy. Just like many African countries.
But if you have to worry that your brother, who you just made a general in your army, is going to stage a coup two weeks later and chop your head off, it probably makes for some pretty restless times.
They will never get their act together...it’s Africa.
A lot of those people go. But Nigeria is predominently Christian with a large and dangerous Muslim minority and some animists. See post 7 for more info.

Probably. Liberals are not known for their charity or their gratitude because they think they’re entitled to what they get.
The story claims the raid was botched because the Muslim extremist (I know that’s redundant) group executed the hostages. What the story does not mention is how many Mohammedans were killed by British special forces and whether those special forces showed ham sandwiches down the throats of the deceased, poured gasoline over them, and set their bodies afire so they could not be “ritually clensed” thus condemning them to—by Mohammed’s teachings—to hell for all eternity. But than anyone who follows Mohammed’s teachings is in grave danger of spending eternity in hell.

I only have one...he wrote me an e-mail. Seriously though, I will never step foot on Africa. More power to you for going. Islam will get worse and worse.
But lets remember it was the 'peaceloving' Muslims who were responsible.
