A dozen earthquakes in northeastern Ohio were almost certainly induced by injection of gas-drilling wastewater into the earth, Ohio oil and gas regulators said Friday as they announced a series of tough new regulations for drillers...

..."almost certainly induced" tells me it's not definitive. So, let's pile on a ton more regulation!

Where there is a quake there is stress. A lot of little quakes is much better than one big one.

Really?
Are we in a Superman movie? Now we can cause earthquakes?
We better raise everybody’s taxes so we can study how to stop them and figure out how earthquakes are the “fault” of humans.

We don’t need regulations as Fracking is almost certainly safe.

A dozen earthquakes in northeastern Ohio were almost certainly induced by injection of gas-drilling wastewater into the earth, Ohio oil and gas regulators said... Ok, then drill all along the San Andres fault. Release the pressure gradually, so there isn't a major earthquake in San Fransicko and LA.
Oh, wait...

A trivial tremor for a huge supply of gas,, sounds worth it to me. I must have missed the devastation and deaths in Ohio.

The article does get around to properly stating the issue.
"In fact, all the evidence indicates that properly located
injection wells will not cause earthquakes."

I used to live in the mountains of Virginia, about 60 miles from the West Virginia border. The house was built in 1909. The dining room was two inches off level because of an earth quake in the 1920s. I wonder what caused that earth quake?

This reminds me of Voltaire's Candide where the Grand Inquisitor blamed the great Lisbon earthquake of 1715 on the Inquisition's failure to burn enough heretics.

Great points. I live next store in Pittsburgh and have for the last 50+ years always heard of these tremors in NE Ohio, and some folks I know here have claimed to have felt them here in SW PA. I don't doubt them, but I never once felt anything.
Point is that an minor tremor in NE Ohio is not at all unusual. I can recall dozens being reported over the years. There are well known fault lines running underneath Lake Erie and it would not be surprising if they ran as far south as Youngstown --- only about 40 miles South.
This is the eco-commies just looking for another reason to strangle the economy by shutting down the energy supply.
Our bureaucracies at the State, Local and Federal levels have been fully stocked with leftists more than willing to use government power to "save the earth' from imaginary threats, even if it destroys the people they are supposed to serve.
To them, truth means nothing. Science means nothing. Ideology is everything! (Well.... ideology plus their fat cat government pensions.)
