I like really strong-tasting coffee, but I need to limit my caffeine intake. For years, I have bought Starbucks Caffe Verona decaf; and when that was out of stock, House Blend decaf. Starbucks has discontinued both. They are as dead to me now.

Good grief just get Pike decaff or a decaff Americano.
Had my own Expresso machine for awhile...but finally had to give all that up.
Bit I have (Christmas gift from son) ...a Mr Coffee K-Cup machine that helps me limit my intake....but i miss the latte taste.
Mr Daughter gave me an embossed mug to keep it warm....

I’m talking about buying bags of beans at the stores. I’ve never seen the two you mentioned.
Starbucks coffee tastes like crap. Will never use a product by Starbucks even if it becomes the only coffee product or maker in the world. Bunch of queer bastards.
You wont believe this but I am using vintage clear corning glass perolators with 8oclock coffee and it is GOOD!
I love Starbucks also but unfortunately where I live there is nothing but Dunkin which tastes like hot water to me so I have espresso like coffee in am. and I’m good to go....
If the Globe is cooling.....we need good coffee.
I lile really strong flavor from dark roasted beans which I grind with a mill. Since Starbucks discontinued Decaf Verona, I have switched to Cost Plus World Market Italian roast. I can get a pound and a half of their beans for less than a pound of StarSucks. I just have to drive out of my way and stock up.

Ok, the Pike is the default coffee at STBX, every store should have it.
The Americao is something they make, basically its an espresso with hot or cold water added.
Every store should have Pike caffeinated and decaf.
Also the manager of the store, gets new roasts as they come out but will order the other coffees based on customer buying patterns, they can order whatever you want. STBX hasn’t stopped making your favorite, you can order it on line.
Just tell the manager you want them to order the coffee you want and how much.

A few years back there was a blinded taste test on coffee—McDonalds won. A coffee for #1 dollar, and it ain’t bad.

It depends on how fresh their coffee is. They use those glass pot brewers and often the coffee has sat for a while.
Most coffee I have gotten at McDonald’s isn’t fit for consumption. QuickTrip and RaceTrack are not too bad for coffee on the road.
I use a $15 Mr Coffee...does that mean I’m not groovy any more?

No worries for you, the only coffee maker I have ever used is a French Press.
I’ll stick to my Folger’s Black Silk. I do try and limit it to one pot per day, ok, two on Saturday and Sunday.
Someone on CNBC figured that the Green Mountain K-Cups were really about $50 a lb.
Starbucks is an acquired taste....the Latte with artificial sweetener’s suits me pretty good....
Starsucks? Meh. I go to McD’s for a large iced sugar-free vanilla coffee, easy on the ice. Half the price, much better flavor.

I’m not a big coffee drinker but I’ll bet it would make a great gift for someone who is.
I gave up caffeine once for Lent. After about a week, I was getting dizzy spells - it sure is a drug. I survived, though, and really enjoyed a cup of coffee with a sausage omelette when it was all over.

I grind my own beans too. I will have to try yours. I find I can mix darker beans in with the 8 oclock and have very tastey and strong brew. and I am a decaf drinker.

Wait at the door of a Starbucks and sell your card for a discount. You’ll find a buyer.
Take the money and run to Verve coffee roasters. Never look at Starbucks again.

Oh, my. Someone isn't making Dunkin Donuts right. I personally have never liked Starbucks coffee, but not because it's strong---because it's bitter and burnt tasting. Two different things. My husband makes the coffee, and he brews up Dunkin that is so strong it can almost walk out the door on its own. Pure coffee heaven. :)
I heard about that, and it made me want to try McDonald's coffee, which I did. But they make it so weak, you can't tell what it tastes like!
I didn't get the same results the following year when I succumbed to decaf, because it isn't totally caffeine-free. Actually, this year I've had only one cup of decaf coffee and I woke up the following morning with such a headache the following morning. I wonder if actually was decaf.
