By chance I happen to work at a time when the only program I can receive on my radio is the Erik Erikson show on WSB radio. It used to be Herman Cain's time slot but Erik took over when Herman resigned to run for POTUS. He's okay but he claims that his website, redstate.com, is the most read and most influential conservative website in the land.
I must live a sheltered life because I spend all of my time here and I never even heard of Redstate until Erik came on the air. Rick Perry obviously did because he chose the Red State gathering to announce his candidacy for POTUS, so his site obviously has some clout. But is it really numero uno? I don't remember hearing about Red State taking down anyone like FreeRepublic did to Dan Rather, or, even more recently, getting Louis CK disinvited from hosting the Correspondent's dinner.
I don't give a rat's azz what Erik thinks, FR will always be #1 to me. But I would be curious to know if he's just blowing smoke.
For awhile it looked like the site drifted with no clear ideological bent, but now it looks like it is mostly just-to-the-right-of-GOPe with bones thrown to the Tea Party in non-influential races while supporting the status quo otherwise. (As evidenced by more-bark-than-bite).
The Palin bit I watched in real time. All after the Palin bit, is the opinion of a sporadic lurker.
Cheers!
I don’t know about the most visited claim, but it’s definitely one of the many great conservative sites we have today.
A liberal, a moderate and a conservative walk into a bar.
The bartender says “Hi, Mitt”
Color me shocked!!!
He is no Herman Cain.
Never trust a guy who insists on using “red” to signify conservatisim. That kind of historical ignorance disqualifies him from the git-go, IMNNHO.
Redstate went all anti Palin. They can stick it. And Erickson is a fat turd who thinks he’s some kind of influential voice on the right. LOL!
Free Republic, Drudge, Hot Air, and Breitbart I visit every day, every minute I’m online (4 tabs open - F5).
Every once in a while (1-2 times per week): Michelle Malkin, Gateway Pundit, InstaPundit, The Blaze, Real Clear, Newsbusters, Lucianne, WND (See what conspiracies are floating around).
Never: Redstate, Daily Caller, NRO, Weekly Standard, and all Lib Media (ABCCNNCBSNBC)
Thanks Satin.
