This was a recording done in the country/western genre back in the late 40s or early 50s and I believe that it was Red Foley who did the vocal, but I wouldn’t swear to it. It has been a long time since I heard the original, but it doesn’t hurt to keep the memory of it alive. As the guy in the video states, it probably dates back to the revolutionary war.
