APNewsBreak: US appeals court allows wolf hunts

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) -- A federal appeals court on Wednesday rejected a lawsuit from conservation groups that want to block wolf hunts that have killed more than 500 of the predators across the Northern Rockies in recent months.

The ruling from a three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals said Congress had the right to intervene when it stripped protections from wolves last spring.

Lawmakers stepped in after court rulings kept wolves on the endangered list for years after they reached recovery goals. Wildlife advocates claimed in their lawsuit that Congress violated the separation of powers by interfering with the courts.

But in an opinion authored by Judge Mary Schroeder, the court said Congress was within its rights, and that lawmakers had appropriately amended the Endangered Species Act to deal with Northern Rockies wolves.

Rocky Mountain wolves are one of the most beneficial species to inhabit that region.

If you are talking about pelts.

The original plan was for 78-100 Canadian Timber wolves to be introduced only into Yellowstone Park. Now the non native , imported Canadian wolves are killing all over.

The result is a huge decline of elk, deer, and moose populations. Antelope , Mountain sheep , and ... populations have crashed.

Forget what you heard about wolves killing only the weak and sick.

Wolves kill for fun.

You're right on the money.

Awhile back there was a wolf article in a NW liberal paper and the leftist tree hugging animal lovers alit on the comment section like a flock of buzzards on road kill.

The majority of comments were so pathetic and ridiculous it was actually comical, from the “wolves were here first” to the “they only kill weak and sick” to finally saying the people living in wolf areas are “the ones that should be hunted and shot.”

Liberalism/leftism is truly a mental disorder.

My last 10 days were spent at Blythe and Yuma and all points in-between down the Colorado River. But the flowers are definitely blooming down there. Desert marigolds, globemallow, and lupines were everywhere. It made the roadsides very colorful.

But I'm back near Lake Mead now and a huge storm is roaring in. Might even get to 32 degrees tonight.

I'm sure you'll be getting MUCH colder than that when the storm hits you.

Stay warm!
