Honda misses then appears to go into a self-protect mode

Should’ve mentioned, sorry, this car has a 5-speed manual transmission. I generally prefer Hondas to Toyotas but that’s because I prefer manual transmissions, if I had to own a car with an automatic for some reason it would probably be a Toyota since the Toyota autos are pretty much bulletproof and nobody elses really are.

My Auto is original. Little Guy that drains past the right wheel.

If it misses, sounds like a coil failure. Each plug has a separate coil. Coil fails shortly after starting (overheating, etc) and misfires. Computer notes the misfire and disables the coil to prevent damage to the engine. Any good mechanic can replace it. Cost will depend on which coil has failed. On front side, easy to get to. On bak side , may have to remove the intake. Not real expensive in any case. Good luck

Have your fuel pressure checked.
Has the check engine light come on?
