Posted on 03/17/2012 6:38:36 PM PDT by Mean Daddy

Just looking for some Freeper help on where the best and cheapest place to purchase Atorvastatin (generic Lipitor) is. Would be interested in online, clubs (Sam's Club) etc.

I totally agree with the way you worded the first sentence “can cause increased blood sugar levels”. How much? Well, 7 mg/dl in non-diabetic patients according to a large study, probably the one you're referencing. All of “7”. In fact, many other common medications can have the same small effect — such as Ziac, which I have taken. Would a typical clinician or researcher refer to this as “causing diabetes” in these patients who now have an average fasting level of 105 mg/dl? No, not likely.

I'm not going to get into the mortality vs. morbidity vs. quality of life argument this morning, and I hope your health improves, but do not see diabetes-statin link in the way some have portrayed it, in patients who are not diabetic to begin with.

You can always find personal anecdotes that illustrate this or that. For example, my wife developed Type II (pre-statin), put on Glucophage and then Ziac for hypertension and Zocor for lipids a couple years later, but her blood glocose has been in a downtrend ever since starting the Glucophage. So the glucose lifting effects of the statin and beta blocker must be quite small in her case.

Good luck, sir!

I take 100 mg/day of the high-absorption kind or 300 of the ordinary kind.

Ping to #42 if they’ve got you worried about the diabetes thing.

Qunol is one of the so-called easily-absorbed CoQ10 products.
