It's not the usual thing you'd expect to find in a kitchen - but these orphaned baby owls seemed right at home as they nestled in two cups.

The feathered pair were clearly having a hoot after moving into the home of their wildlife park keeper, Jimmy Robinson.

The six-week-old burrowing owlets, nicknamed Linford and Christie, were hatched in an incubator, and are now being hand-reared by Jimmy - who works at Longleat Safari Park in Wiltshire - and are given 24-hour care.

Cute. I like owls. Here’s a neat one I found the other
day about a rescued baby hummingbird:

Ping to flycatcher.

Thanx. I’ve seen that before.
A friend of mine nursed a baby hummer several yrs ago. It came back to visit for a while.

I just finished a good book. Wesley the Owl, a love story of an owl and his girl. True story; starts with 4 day old injured owl and tells the story of Wesley and the women who took care of him for 19 years.

Lol!

Now that is a great pic.

Thanks for the ping, Beaversmom!

Sorry for the late response. I've been out in the field doing breeding bird surveys, which I'll be doing until mid-July. Yikes!

Very little time off until then, but I sure appreciate those bird pings.

All the best!
