NEW YORK, March 20 (UPI) -- Actor Robert De Niro has apologized for a joke with racial overtones he made at a New York fundraiser for President Barack Obama's re-election campaign.
"Callista Gingrich. Karen Santorum. Ann Romney," The Hollywood Reporter quoted De Niro as saying during his opening remarks at Monday night's $5,000-a-plate event, which Obama's wife, Michelle attended. "Now do you really think our country is ready for a white first lady?"
CNN reported Obama's campaign press secretary Olivia Alair called the joke "inappropriate" Tuesday.

Why would his remarks offend Mrs. Obama. I thought he was saying he prefered having a black first lady to a white first lady-it seemed to me to be a put down of all the former white first ladies maybe I read it wrong.

DeNiro has always had a black wife. Nothing insulting in his statement.
I have noticed that middle league advancement of Masonic/Eastern Star/Wiccan occultists have corresponded to behavior where the advancee accuses another senior member of behaving inappropriately and the accused takes the accusation seriously.
IMHO, it’s a bush league attempt of occultic advancement. Not worth the time of day.

Your confusion stems from the fact that DeNiro offered a non-apology apology. He insulted the white women who might become First Lady, hinting that they should know their place and that America is not ready for someone with that color skin to be in the White House. Then, in a complete non-sequitor, DeNiro expressed remorse if his insult to the white ladies happened to offend Mrs Obama.

Socialism is a disease within free compacts. It is like a cancer that grows and kills the productivity of any society it invades. Give free stuff to people on the backs of others, the takers have little incentive to produce.
With no incentive, then society starts to waste away from lack of productivity but then the takers want more stuff because their lack of productivity causes the producers to create less. The cycle builds more steam into an endless loop that history has shown to be detrimental for society at large

Unfortunately too many people vote for a candidate based solely on appearance, manner of speaking or other totally superficial factors. Certainly things would be a whole lot easier at this time in history if God had made us all the same color.
