wo former employees of the world's largest Christian television channel Trinity Broadcasting Network are accusing the non-profit of spending $50 million of its funding on extravagant personal expenses.

Among purchases, the network founded by Televangelists Paul and Jan Crouch, is accused of misappropriating its 'charitable assets' toward a $50 million jet, 13 mansions and a $100,000-mobile home for Mrs Crouch's dogs.

Their granddaughter, Brittany Koper, 26, recently filed her allegations in court after a brief appointment as the network's chief finance director in July.

Taking advantage of the sheep.

Hope they enjoy their comforts here and now, because there’s no comfort where they’re going.

This is good news. These people are false teachers who manipulate vulnerable people to get rich and they need to be investigated.

TBN could have been so much better if it hadn’t become a fiefdom of prosperity gospel greed.

Matthew 21:12-17

King James Version (KJV)

“And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,

And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.”

I cannot believe that this couple is still on tv.

I had a patient who worked for them at Trinity broadcasting in So. Cal. She said at that time that they were the real thing, that they really believed everything that they were saying and lived quite modestly. Not any more, I guess.

She also said that those numerous breaks for fund raising and things that they had on the show, were really breaks to take the cameras off of them because they were always speaking in tongues and the producers wouldn’t allow it to be shown on the air. She said that you could always spot it because when they came back after a break, the woman’s eye make up would be running and she would be dabbing her eyes with a Kleenex or hankie.

Paul and Jan look they’re doing an over-the-top comedy skit about televangelists. They must laugh at what they can pass off as the gospel these days as they count their filthy lucre.

Our family had a reclusive, dotty aunt, who became *hooked* on the Bakkers in the final years of her life.

Besides being a wealthy, a well-published author, in her own right; her husband was a very successful NE businessman.

She was very lonesome, and spent her days watching TBN, writing checks to the tune of what accumulated to hundreds of thousands of dollars to the Bakker ministries. When she passed, she was destitute. The probate court decided she was to be buried in a pauper’s grave. The family stepped up and bought her a plot and a fitting burial.

My heart goes out to anyone who *gives* with the best of intentions and their resources are misused by evil people, like these.

**During TBN’s Praise-A-Thon earlier this month, a preacher exhorted viewers to bellow ‘Fear not!’ three times, count down from 10 and then rush to the phone with donations. In exchange, he said, they would receive a miracle from God ‘about this time tomorrow.’ Within seconds, all 200 phone lines were busy.

Ministry watchdogs have long questioned how TBN — which declared more than $800 million in net assets in 2010 — spends that wealth.

TBN files reports with the IRS, but the Crouches run nearly two dozen other organizations that are harder to track and they operate extensively overseas, said Rusty Leonard, who founded Wall Watchers, an organization that monitors the financial transparency of church ministries to which its members donate.

Wall Watchers gives TBN an ‘F’ for financial transparency and keeps them on its list of the 30 worst ministries.**

Yeah, I believe it. It was back in the eighties that I had the conversation with the woman who worked for them. She wasn’t part of the ministry. She might have even been Catholic. So, it wasn’t always so. She even told me where the Crouches lived.

I wonder if they still speak in tongues?
