Hmmmm ... in the post-apocalypse (assuming I'm still around) I'm gonna break out the gun safe and then round up anyone in my neighborhood who has an Obama-Biden sticker or yardsign. I'll hitch 'em up to a coach/carriage and then have my very own libtard drawn carriage. heh
"Mad Max" mode of travel

It depends on where you’ll be residing for eternity.

I suspect many persons will default to horses until a distrubution system is set up. You know that internal combustion engines can run on CO produced by burning wood. The Russians had a few such vehicles. I suspect that steam fired with wood an/or coal will also appear. And of course because of all the advanced technology before things fall apart - battery power which are recharged by solar cells.

That’s a result of my own fevered imagination.

I grew up with horses, as soon as I got my first 10 speed bicycle I realized immediately that bicycles were a far superior form of transportation. My first 10 speed was a 40 lb used Murray; weeks after getting it my 13 year old youthful entusiasm propelled me over 50 miles up to Mt. Raineer and 50 miles back in a day. That bike gave me previously unimaginable freedom.
Post apocalypse... the scarcity and price of fuel will severely limit the use of internal combustion powered vehicles. The possible exception would be people who build or buy gasification units for their vehicles.
I provide the following link only for reference... I have no idea if they are reputable.

If memory is correct this was based on a military prototype built by Chrysler. (I’m going to check when on a real computer)

Where are you going to go? Vacation?
Before (and presumably after) our technological society, the vast majority of people never went farther from their home than they could walk in a day.
The conclusion: Make sure you're in a good spot, because after the SHTF you aren't going to be going anywhere.

The Landmaster was just built for that movie.

Go for a bike that will get you far on little fuel and is easy to repair. And, for the love of Tetsuo, wear a helmet. I think a helmet will be the least of my worries after the apocalypse.
