Another FReepathon! [Vanity]

We're just a few days away from the 2nd Quarter 2012 FReepathon! I may be a bit different because I don't hate 'em. Although it's disheartening that not everyone contributes in a timely, generous manner to keep the 404 away from America's exclusive website for Conservative Activism, FReepathons are a time for FRiends from all over the world to unite in a common cause for good.

There's a lot of camaraderie, good clean humor and some fun graphics in the FReepathon threads. It's a chance for many of us to get to know our fellow FReepers better. Plus, it's always great to follow the progress as the red turns to yellow and finally hits green.

Here's hoping that the 2nd Quarter event shatters all records and that everyone takes part in this one. Just a few bucks will keep FreeRepublic on the air and continue to advance Constitutional Conservatism.

TOPICS: Miscellaneous
KEYWORDS: donations; freepathon; freerepublic; friends
Here's what Jim Robinson stated a few FReepathons back:

Well, we are currently delivering over 1.2 million pageviews to over 230,000 visitors per day. That's 40 million pageviews to 7 million visitors per month or 120 million pageviews per quarter, 480 million pageviews per year. We currently have over 330,000 registered screen names on FR. Out of these millions of visits, hundreds of millions of pageviews and hundreds of thousands of registered FReepers and hundreds of thousands of regular lurkers only a relatively FEW actually donate the funds to keep FR alive.

Now I'm not complaining because we've always managed to meet our fundraising goals in the past, but it is taking longer and longer to accomplish the task. And part of that may be because it's mostly the same few dedicated FReepers providing the funds and along with the rest of us I'm sure they're stretched to the limit. Sure would be nice if a few more FReepers and lurkers would lend a hand and send in a few bucks. Doesn't take much. I think our average donation is around $20, but you can send in $5, $10, $20, $30 or more and make it a monthly contribution if you can.

Yes, I'm saving up a few dollars as I plan to get into the action early for the upcoming FReepathon. This is such a great site and it behooves us to show our appreciation in a tangible way. As Conservatives, we're not freeloaders so we can contribute, as best we can, to keep FR alive!

So, consider this a pre-bump for the fun that's coming in just a few days. And, Jim, I hope this time, you'll have to use a lot fewer Roman numerals. :-)

GO FREEREPUBLIC! GO JIMROB! GO FREEPERS!

We need Free Republic! I do not want to live in a post-FR world! I will donate as usual.

One worry: Is FR still only a Newt Gingrich site? Can it be explained to me, really, how that works at this late date, when Newt supporters encourage Romney earning delegates, and there is not much chance for a split convention, and even less for a brokered convention, and even less for Newt to be our nominee?

Are we still an anti-Romney as the nominee site? How does that jibe with supporting Newt, when right now in practical application it would seem that supporting Newt only helps Romney get the nomination faster.

I feel that if there is anything that can be done, and FR is influential, we should try with our last breaths to fight off the Anointed Romney as the nominee. Am I out of place? I don’t pretend to be an expert. The last official opinions on FR were pro-Gingrich, anti-Romney. Is there anything new that is official here? I would like to think that at this point, anti-Romney is more important, until the day he finally gets all his delegates. While we can, shouldn’t we promote trying to get Santorum to over 50% in winner take all states?

Long live Free Republic!!

I'll defer to others with more tenure to address the core political matters you raised in the response.

That aside, I am compelled to applaud you for the proper use of "jibe" in the sentence quoted above. Too often, I see "jive" in place of the proper term, "jibe". In your honor, since I appreciate good, standard English, I'll kick an extra buck or two when the FReepathon rolls around.

Seriesly.
