It would appear the river is a bit deeper than expected.

If the purpose of the excercise is to cross the river, I say mission accomplished!

Methinks he’d have done better had he had the doors off, or open...

I guess the dude didn’t read where it clearly reads “Land” Cruiser on the back of the truck. Something tells me a couple oil cans of Fosters were involved in this activity.

#1 The door, window & firewall seals look good! Toyota even puts seals around the side marker lights to keep the dust out of Cruisers.
#2 Front-wheel drive Land Cruisers don’t get much traction... IF the front wheels were even touching.

I found a car I like on Top Gear. The Ariel Atom. They outran a rally bike on their track by 4 seconds due to the car's handling through the turns.

ALWAYS have someone walk the river crossing ahead of you! (unless crocs are a problem)

Friends sunk their Isuzu Trooper in a 4 foot deep hole when their “scout” decided to leave the “road” while wading across.

I had to get sand out of their speedometer..on the dashboard!

A nurse working in the bush near us sunk her Daihatsu 4WD when a flash flood hit her. Sand EVERYWHERE! The crankcase & transfer case seals held, but both axles and the gearbox had sand in them. Brake drums were packed solid with sand.

Ugh!

Thanks for posting this video. I’ve forwarded it to our (grown) kids... brings back memories!

I remember that episode. That car was as close to a streetable Formula car as you could get. Take the passenger seat and fenders off, and you have the real deal.

A swimmer doesn’t drown until he panics. Guess that works for drivers too.

LOL, Bill Saif of Watertown NY had a fishing show and pretty much did this in a 70ish Cadillac when the River he was filming at suddenly overflowed.

Having gotten hired to drain diffs, engines, trans after some of these episodes, this guy was a moron. You never get all the water out of most of it and it soon turns to rust.
