The internet is a very scary place

Posted on 04/06/2012 9:25:50 AM PDT by LouAvul

I belong to a few forums. Some are gun forums and some are guitar forums.

I posted a thread about a Nazi named Grass who insists that Israel is a threat to world peace. Why do I call him a Nazi? Because during WW2 he belonged to the Waffen SS for Pete's sake! And there's no way that he could not have known about the injustices the German Jews were experiencing. And now he's denouncing Israel's steps to protect themselves from an enemy who 1) is very close to nuclear capability and 2) has already proclaimed that Israel has no right to exist. That makes him a Nazi in my book.

Anyway, this was on a gun forum, populated mostly, I think, by fools and kooks. I'm stunned at how many posters agree with the Nazi. I'm stunned at how confused the vast majority of internet participants are about the meaning of life. I'm stunned at how many perverts and kooks have computers.

I sure hope the majority of conservatives don't post on the internet, because if the current ratio of conservative posts to liberal posts is an indicator of the real world, we're in trouble. I mean, if the pendulum doesn't swing back soon, this whole thing is going to be unsalvageable.

I think FR must be the only forum where people are actually interested in truth. Fags are perverts. Trayvon Martin was a thug who, sadly, got what he asked for. Israel is the only ally we have in a region dominated by enemies of mankind and God created heaven and earth. I mean, these are basic truths. It's not rocket science.

Even the kooks on FR are usually pretty intelligent.

Your assumptions are incorrect. Not all SS participated in the holocaust. The Waffen SS were chiefly military units under SS control, not extermination units. Further not all Waffen SS were Nazi Party members. Many Waffen SS were formed from citizens of conquered countries, especially later in the war. (There were Waffen SS units from many different conquered countries.) And many were conscripted.

These are historical facts.

The above facts do not excuse the comments of Grass. If you wish to form a more compelling argument, you should focus on his statements, not your misplaced assumptions about his background.

I’ve been to those kinds of sites. I first ran into them when I figured out who Alex Jones was and landed on his prison planet forums yet Jones is tame to the point those kinds of people attack him for not being more ant-Semitic. So there are worse hosts and forums out there. One of them hosts is Michael Rivero and another is Rick Adams. Jeff Rense is another. They all know each other but have had falling outs. There is Jack Blood too. Basically they are either Paleo conservatives or libertarians who are into conspiracies. They are countless sites that are anti-Semitic from this crowd. Too many to mention.

I just found out the other that Alex Jone’s radio network Genesis Communication used to be run by a host at RBN who ran off after a falling out and created the Republic Broadcasting Network. So it is connected... Coast 2 Coast AM, Jesse Ventura, Jeff Rense, Wayne Masden, Jack Blood, Michael Rivero, Rick Adams, Genesis Communications, Republic Broadcasting Network, David Duke and the rest.

Most of these people are their sites and also into 9/1 Trutherism and Ron Paul. There was one guy DL Abramhson who called out Ron Paul and was fired off RBN.

There is too much to mention but safe to say they have sites where Antisemitism flows.

It is THE MEDIA

But they are not getting away with it like they used to...

Just 10 years ago the media might have by now successfully annointed Saint Trayvon for his healing of the sick before he was gunned down by a madman on his way home from choir practice.

but they are already backpeddaling on this even BEFORE the United Nations had a chance to stick their nose into it

are you talking of Günter Grass? While I will not comment on the right or wrong of his postions his service into the SS Waffen was a result of the draft. I (personally) believe there is a huge difference between someone that volunteered to fight as a NAZI and a German citizen that was drafted and later wrote beautifully of the horrors of war and the errors of the NAZI thinking (My Century is an excellant book). I also don’t believe (again just my opinion) that it serves your opinion on Israel well to label anyone that criticizes their military policies a NAZI. Read some of Grass’s Nobel Prize works and if you still think he is just a Jew hating NAZI I will respect that.

John Rabe is a good example of a nazi party member who did good things.

Yes, the internet seems to have caused an algae bloom of conspiracy theorists. It is absolutely rampant. What is so noxious about conspiracy theories is that they obscure the real battle by creating a false equivalence between the good guys and the bad guys. Obama and Bush become interchangeable puppets of the New World Order. So people write off both sides as evil and stay on the sidelines. In the end I think this helps the left.

I sure do agree with you and there sure are a lot of people out there who do not get it. It’s sad, it’s frustrating. I know so many people who are indeed “good” in their hearts and if they could only trust a source other than Jon Stewart or other mocking leftists who keep these “good” people in line, they would all be straight up conservatives.

But they were fed like infant formula all the liberal memes. They think murdering the unborn is an important “right” for good women, evn though they would never do it. They thought it was important to vote for The First Black President. They are fooled about just about everything. They are afraid of being on “the wrong side,” the side that gets mocked by their leaders who are either fools (Stewart) or evil (Obama). They are afraid of being mocked by their friends and family.

Alinsky was right. The biggest motivator for humans is not to be mocked.

Waffen SS are nobody to defend or admire. It amazes me to see the subculture of people who make excuses for them. The differences between Waffen SS, SS Police battalions, and ensatzgruppen were at best,,, academic. (at least to an innocent Ukranian or French civilian.

The Das Reich division, is a good example. Waffen SS that everyone says were just elite soldiers, and not the “bad” SS we should hate. In April 1941 they assisted an SS extermination squad in shooting 920 Jews near Minsk. The same division was involved in the murders at Orador-sur-Glane in France in 1944.
And it was SS that murdered unarmer US prisoners at Malmedy.

These are historical facts:
The Waffen SS has a proven track record, that when ordered, or even when they saw it suited their immediate military goal of they day, was more than willing to aim right at a mothers face as she held her child, and shoot her.
And all SS doors lead straight to Himmler.
It’s shameful to act like there is any serious difference.

In the golden age of Usenet, I had an epiphany: People actually believe this stuff! (whatever "stuff" the topic may entail.) Yes, there are some very strange views out there, held in great earnest - and that's exactly what some are thinking about you.

Over the years, I have come to the same conclusion. It’s why few people are willing to send a signed letter to the local paper.

Nonsense. If all SS were war criminals, as you seem to imply, why weren't they all prosecuted as such?

Bottom line: you cannot put all SS units in the same box and assert they are all the same.

It's very easy for us to criticize. But if you were a Dutch or Belgian worker drafted into an SS unit in 1944, would you automatically be a war criminal? Would you magically adopt a willingness to shoot a mother in the face? Really?

So while there might indeed be be an individual in the SS, here and there,, who had a conscience, it is very fair to hold ANY SS in contempt unless as an individual, they have a demonstrated track record that would set them FAR apart from the evil organization in which they “served”.

An example of an elite organization might be the US Marines, or the American airborne. I can imagine what their reaction would be if ever ORDERED to round up everyone in the town, even mothers and children,, put them in a barn and burn them alive. Or to assist with security in the in mass murder of every Jew in town.

Probably the best reason to hate the SS and nazis in general is for what happened in Ukraine. Coming so soon after Stalins forced starvation genocide, large numbers of Ukrainians actually welcomed the Germans, thinking they were going to be their salvation.
I can think of no worse evil than that kind of betrayal. It would be like coming upon a woman being raped, and after shooting her attacker,,,deciding to torture and kill her.

And if you were ever in the SS,, polite society would prefer you STFU on the topic of Jews and Israel. There are a million other political topics in which to immerse oneself.

You should be ashamed,, defending the SS. There is nothing to admire in that organization. And they have a proven track record of committing murder against large numbers of the unarmed, everywhere they went.
Worse, there are no instances of SS being the voice of reason,, or trying to stop any mass murder. They were all first class turds. Every one.

It’s fun to like a German machine gun, or be fascinated with their planes and rockets, to think an Me-262 is amazing, etc.
But the SS deserves no more respect than you would give the NKVD. A shameful group if there ever was one. Furthermore, the Wehrmacht correctly recognized their amateur status. (quietly,,, to avoid being murdered)

Possibly not,,,but you should be ashamed of the unit in which you “served”.
