Obamas Attend Easter Worship at Historic DC Church

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Donning their Sunday best, President Barack Obama and his family attended Easter services this morning at St. John's Church in Washington D.C.

Located a block away from the White House, the protestant Episcopal parish is a frequent visit for Obama and past presidents. A casual stroll through Lafayette Park will bring you to the historic house of worship in minutes.

The president, first lady Michelle Obama, and daughters Sasha and Malia were seated about six pews back from the pulpit of Rev. Luis Leon, whose sermon reflected on the uncertain state of world affairs as they related to the faith.

Citing a recent New York Times article, the pastor said a new renaissance in Somalia's capital could be seen as an allegory of rebirth.

"Now you may say, 'They're all Muslim.' But so what? That is evidence of the resurrection," he said.

Hopefully the pastor did not become confused between the current self proclaimed messiah in his midst and the true Son of the Living God and Savior of the world.

obama only goes to Church in an election year... 2008... 2010 and now... otherwise he worships most Sunday’s in the land of the 18 holes.

So this is the rebirth?

The African Union, which was formed to succeed the Organization of African Unity on July 9, 2002 and is loosely based on the European Union, aims to promote cooperation and integration among the independent nations of Africa. It consists of 53 African nations and its headquarters are in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The current incarnation was conceived by Moammar el-Qaddafi, the former Libyan leader. The union has grand plans for the future that include the establishment of a central bank, with a single currency by 2023, and of a human rights court.

I am glad they have routed Al Shahab, but rising in the image of the EU is just what they have in mind for us too.

“the pastor said a new renaissance in Somalia’s capital could be seen as an allegory of rebirth. “Now you may say, ‘They’re all Muslim.’ But so what? That is evidence of the resurrection,” he said.”

No matter where they go, the Obamas don’t seem to have trouble finding an apostate church.

So Obama basically killed Quadaffi and now he sits in a church nodding to a sermon that promotes on of quadaffi’s ideas?
We are being played people.

I just want to know what they were wearing ;-).

Of course he heard a polically-correct, theologically-dumb*ss sermon ... er, “message.” “A new renaissance in Somalia’s capital”? What’s that mean, one working flush toilet? It is to laugh.

This is an episcopal "church." They don't buy all that old crap about the resurrection, except in figurative left wing political terms.

Not bad at all, for the Obamas. Michelle’s sweater needs to be two sizes larger, but other than that, I’m pleasantly surprised.

Fashiony young girls at my church today were wearing pretty chiffon frocks, below knee length, in pink and yellow. (I was in the turqoise Motherwear dress from two years ago, but this year, I have matching jewellery!)

My gay fashion consultant is probably aghast at the pretty but non-springlike dresses. Easter is when you break out your white shoes and pastel dresses.

At least the girls are not wearing those baby doll length dresses that I am seeing on my FB page. What is up with wearing wedding lingerie to church?
