No Global Warming For 15 Years

New UK Met Office global temperature data confirms that the world has not warmed in the past 15 years.

Analysis by the GWPF of the newly released HadCRUT4 global temperature database shows that there has been no global warming in the past 15 years - a timescale that challenges current models of global warming.

Whether the global temperature standstill of the past 15 years continues or is replaced by warming, as the IPCC predicts, only future data will tell. In the meantime the length of the standstill means that the challenge it offers for models of future climate prediction, and explanations for past warming, cannot be ignored.

Dr David Whitehouse, science editor of the GWPF, said:

“We are at the point where the temperature standstill is becoming the dominant feature of the post-1980 warming, and as such cannot be dismissed as being unimportant even when viewed over 30 years.”

“It is time that the scientific community in general and the IPCC in particular acknowledged the reality of the global temperature standstill and the very real challenge it implies for our understanding of climate change and estimates of its future effects.”

Global temperatures vs. global CO2 concentrations:

As Algore asked in his famous movie An Inconvenient Truth:

"Do those two go together?"

“Challenged” eh? Yeah, I spose we’d need at least 16 years of data before we could say it shot the old APGW theory right clear to hell...

Put down the hookah and do your own research if you are really that interested. It’s the (old fashioned) American way. Man up instead of whining.

Fossil fuels are emitting particulates and stopping the natural global warming process necessary to a naturally evolving planet. We must save ourselves. Warming has stalled! /sarc

But according to Gore all of the ice will melt and the seas will rise, does this mean I have been wasting my time building up the sandbag retaining walls around my house here in Colorado Springs?

Those are parts per million. In other words, it went from .0315% of the atmosphere to .0385% in fifty years.

BTW, what did the trolls say?

Fill a glass up with ice cubes, then fill it up with water to the top.

Let it all melt.

What happened? the level actually went down!

Huh? Now that makes no sense in the context of the posts. Perhaps you should re-read the thread.

Out.

To be a nerd - I would think icebergs mean warming and the ice breaking off. ;) But I know what you mean, and I agree. In fact, if you look at the long-term ice coring records, I have thought for about 15 years that when we cool, it will be an ice age event. If one believes in cycle theories anyway. I hope the other “experts” that are just calling for a “little ice age” are correct!

Two more years and the current models are going to be invalidated, according to a peer-reviewed paper I read last year. I was searching around for *the* answer to the question “How many years of non-warming would it take to fall outside the predictions made by the model(s) to a point where the models have to be judged as flat-out wrong?”

And the answer was 17 years.

BTW, the paper was written by a researcher who supports AGW as a theory and policy responses to same, so it can’t be disparaged as being funded by “the [coal|oil|gas] companies.”

I attended public schools, so please tell me if I am wrong.........so, you are saying that the increase over a fifty year period of time has only been 37 thousandths of one percent?

-- ... what will be the next crisis. I predict it will be water consumption. It will have to be something that everyone is a part of so they can control us through our guilt. “What is water footprint?” will replace concern for carbon footprints. CO2 was the perfect vehicle because you can’t live without producing it and are therefore guilty.

Next crises? Wasn't there something recently that now in DC the chillrun were having to walk around wih inhalors...and Biden saying we should buy the Volt to lessen tornado threats or some garbage like that?

Remember in the '70's it was the coming Ice Age?

Not to worry though.......

Correct. I used to think there was legitimacy to the global warming claim until I heard the guy that made the weather channel state how much CO2 is in the atmosphere.

I couldn’t believe it so I had to look it up in the encyclopedia to verify it.

I’ve found that virtually no one knows that statistic, and typically doubt it when they’re first told it.

(in my best Lorax voice): I speak for the trees. Here is what the trees told me to say: You freakin’ oxygen breathers are insane. We breathe IN CO2, you morons. There’s already little enough of it as it is! WAY less than half of one percent of the atmosphere! How would you like it if we trees tried to stop making oxygen? Not that we could do it, just like you can’t stop making CO2, but still....cut the cr*p and give us something to breathe!!!!
