The Enlightenment was kind of an odd time period (by our standards) in regard to the dissection of human cadavers — done truly in the name of science — because there was a tremendous amount of prejudice against letting it be done at all. So otherwise perfectly respectable doctors and scientists were doing backdoor deals with “resurrection men” who would go steal the cadavers after the burial so that the doctors could take them apart and try to actually learn something about the human body. I am a big Franklin fan — we actually gave his name to one of our boys — and I would not be a bit surprised if he wasn’t there for some of the dissections. It fits in perfectly with both his “man of science” persona and his “naughty man of the world” persona.
If Obama had a son... Ben Franklin would have eaten him...
