Skip to comments.Gingrich = Substance, Romney = Fluff.Without Newt, next 4 months will be boring without ideas, plans

Be honest, without Newt Gingrich and his conservative ideas and plans for the country on radio, TV, newspapers, rallies, etc., the political discouse goes back to being really boring and insulting. Basically, there will be no passionate plans and ideas coming from Romney. We will be left with a beauty contest between Obama and his liberal "gushers" and Romney and his wife Ann trying to play "Leave it to Beaver" in front of the American public. Without Newt, for the next 4 months, we Americans will have to endure the mainstream media and Fox News pushing the shallow aspects of Obama and Romney. We Americans who are suffering daily with joblessness, high gas prices, a broken cultural society, liberal judges, etc. deserve better. Let's keep Newt active on the campaign trail by voting, tweeting, facebook, talking about our conservative ideas being pushed hard by Gingrich!
How ya going to keep em down on the GOP-E farm after they’ve seen Newt?
“Basically, there will be no passionate plans and ideas coming from Romney.”
And the only way to get our country back is to be passionate about it. Romney is a disaster.
I support Newt all the way.
“Without Newt, for the next 4 months, we Americans will have to endure the mainstream media and Fox News pushing the shallow aspects of Obama and Romney.”
They all speak with a double tongue. Fox News more than anyone, these days.
“Let’s keep Newt active on the campaign trail”
This is a great idea.
Romney and his wife Ann trying to play “Leave it to Beaver” in front of the American public.
Lol, ain’t it the truth.
When I get right down to it, Romney just bores the LIFE out of me, and I can’t figure out WHY people, ESPECIALLY so-called conservatives could EVER, EVER go for this guy? He’s so stilted and jerky as well as almost painful to listen to.
I’m sure he’s a “nice” man and all ... lovely family, of course. But, really — talk about a person who seems out of touch, or, could be SO easily portrayed as such.
The sticker is on my car and I have a copy of his campaign pledge in my purse...IF anyone cares to ask me or laughs that I support him.
I could never go on board with weakness I see in Romney and Santorium. Somehow I felt Santorium was not strong enough to get through the campaign.
Newt will get plenty of airtime
The only thing Santorum accomplished was to put Newt out of any chance to be President.
I hope Newt does stay in whether or not he can be President, at least he is opposition for Democrats. Romney is nothing.
We have been taken for a ride.Once again Republicans have pulled defeat in from Victory.
The question is “will anybody but Obama” be able to get the Muslim out of the White House.
It is highly unlikely that Newt can capture the nomination, so what would be the best role for him ? It has been reported that he wants to be Secretary of State. That might be the post that captures Newt’s ego, but I don’t think it fits his purpose.
This country needs a major monumental re-education of its founding principles. Newt is an amazing professor. I’d like to see him as Secretary of Education. But I don’t want him doing battles with unions and getting down in the weeds. That is the job of each state legislature. Newt can downsize the department- even abolish it for all I care.
Just like Spiro Agnew attacked the nabobs of negativism, Newt could join forces with David Horowitz and become a dynamic duo in reforming universities and getting the feds out of local schools. But even that is secondary to the ultimate purpose.
I want Newt to become the nation’s professor in civic duty and pride. This country, and especially its youth, need a re-awakening. I feel a change rolling across this land. The hand of the Tea Party is about to be felt, and Newt can be in the vanguard of renewing our nation’s purpose.
Reagan changed the world with the power of his words. Newt can’t change the world, but he has the gift to change our country and teach the young.
Please refer to #14 above.
Imagine if Newt were press secretary!
A detailed plan, not yet in Romneys plan, just platatudes and talking points. If he names his cabinet early and they are patriots to the cause he will have everyones attention. If he continues with his robotic fell good sayings and nothing more up to yhe election we will have a Mccain, Dole defeat. Newt has always been on point with ideas and plans from the begining. Here we go again, holding the nose as we vote.
If we can get it that far and spark an old-fashioned brawl of ideas at the convention, I like Newt's chances.
It’s about defeating Obama... plain and simple. We got what we got, now we gotta kick O’s ass clean out’a the white house.
If Newt were president he wouldn’t need a press secretary.
You got that right!
The Secret Truth About Newt Gingrich!
Romney has twice as many ideas as anybody else, because he’s on both sides of every issue.
I guess the point for me is, ‘You can lead voters to the polls but don't dare ask them to think!’
Interesting anecdote and all too prevalent and sad.
Sad in that, to this generation, the past is prologue to nothing. The past means nothing. It is all in the now, and like you say, in the soundbites and the emotional tug of the moment.
Ridiculous to think that you could learn anything from the past and our forbears. Much less bother with a stale old Constitution written by slave holders.
Your friend has no understanding, much less interest, in how governments operate or how his rights are secured. I’ve lived in the Eurozone. I wish your friend could imagine a world in which a body of eurocrats can one day decree the shape of a banana and the next declare water as a non-hydrate.
You wake up one day and the rules have changed. It is a world in which you fear for your sanity when you realize that your fate resides in the hands of 754 Euro Parliamentarians, and your only recourse is some European Ombudsman. Every day your country is losing its sovereignty with every one of their whims.
Tell your friend that a UK judge just sent a student to prison for 56 days for a tweet of his deemed racist. Ask him to imagine a world like that. And then ask him how such a world came to be.
“When I get right down to it, Romney just bores the LIFE out of me, and I cant figure out WHY people, ESPECIALLY so-called conservatives could EVER, EVER go for this guy? Hes so stilted and jerky as well as almost painful to listen to.”
The best I can ascertain is that many are just so frightened by 4 more years of Obama. This is not an unreasonable fear, except when it causes you to be foolish enough to think that Romney is any better.
There is an old saying that, “A drowning man will grab the blade of a sword to save himself.” The fear of Obama is driving folks to make irrational choices in setting for Romney.
