WASHINGTON The Obama administration announced today that it is reissuing a Bush-era regulation that sharply limits protections for polar bears under the Endangered Species Act. Both the current proposal and the previous Bush rule exclude activities occurring outside the range of polar bears such as the greenhouse gas emissions of industrial polluters like coal plants from regulations that could help stop the bears extinction. Todays announcement comes as a result of a court order that struck down the Bush rule in October 2011.
If polar bears are to survive we have to directly confront the greatest threat to them: our greenhouse gas emissions, said Kassie Siegel, director of the Center for Biological Diversitys Climate Law Institute. But the Obama administration seems to be living in a fantasy world where the way to solve a difficult problem is to deny its existence.
The proposed rule severely undermines protection for polar bears by exempting from portions of the Endangered Species Act all activities that occur outside of the bears range. But the species is endangered precisely because of activities occurring outside the Arctic namely the emission of greenhouse gases and resulting warming that is leading to the rapid disappearance of summer sea ice.

So what’s his position on black bears?
So when does it become the “Obama-era rule” and the “Obama regulation.” Never, I suspect.
Based on his knowledge of the constitution, he's still trying to disarm them.
I move that we relocate the threatened polar bears to inner urban areas and move able-bodied persons who refuse to work to the Arctic to clean up/de-pollute the area.
All white, that wasn’t nice. Sorry, I meant “All Right”.
> If polar bears are to survive we have to directly confront
> the greatest threat to them: our greenhouse gas emissions,
This is idiotic, at best sophomoric.
Greenhouses are good.

How does America come up with so many foundations, institutes, councils, associations, centers, groups;
all with an agenda, all with fundraisers, most with tax exempt status.
Can’t we just have a controlled mega group of unwashed disenters, tree huggers, racial diversity pimps, anti war advocates.
Poor polar bears, their population has increased so much that they’re having a hard time finding enough food to kill. Poor polar bears!
Create a foundation for this or that, throw the words justice, rights, children, or fairness in the name and you get to live pretty large on other people's moolah. Memphis here is full of them. There are more NFP's and Foundations than there are actual for profit businesses. It's all a scam.
The polar bear is endangered because people lobbied to put it on the list. The population is as high as it has ever been.
Katie, Listen up and listen good. It was idealogical fraud commited by the socialist environmental left to put the polar bear on the endangered species act in the first place. You have to be brainwashed and insane to try and protect the polar bear from CO2. The only protection the polar bear needs is from wacko’s like you.
Any school child knows of the right to "bear arms"!!
The very best way to DEFUND all of the Leftwingtard foundations is to reform the inheritance tax laws. Rather than allowing people like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett to fund foundations with untaxed contributions, we tax the beneficiaries as if those donations were ordinary income ~ UNLESS ~ the money, upon the death of the owner is transferred to all of his 500 closest blood relatives equally.
Polar Bears are having no problems, except low supplies.
Send mor libruls.
Drop dead, Kassie!
There are a lot of do-gooders whose only calling in life is to regulate the behavior of others. And then there are the communist subversives who form or co-opt these groups to their own ends. I think those two together explain over 90% of the weird organizations that pop up.
