Rep. Schakowsky introduces WORK Act allowing low-income moms the option that Ann Romney got

Rep. Schakowsky (D) has introduced a bill, the WORK Act, Woman's Option to Raise Kids, giving federal assistance that would supplement TANF benefits (for the first 3 years), because under current law a woman (poor or not) raising kids does not have her work raising kids counted as real "work."

Dems are attempting to use Ann Romney's words against her.

Ann Romney said that staying home and raising kids is "work." and Dems are countering that by saying that it shouldn't be just people like Ann Romney that should get to stay home and "work." Schakowsky believes that poor women should be able to stay home and "work" raising their kids, but because they cannot, they need gov't assistance to do so. Indeed, she was asked today if she thinks that Mitt Romney should support her bill.

Willard Romney will counter this by saying that this is welfare for welfare moms. And yes, it is welfare.

And just like I knew would ultimately happen, Dems will counter by saying that Romney is against social welfare benefits, but personally benefitted from welfare benefits himself - corporate welfare benefits - and they will cite numerous articles like the one from American Spectator, "Mitt Romney: Corporate Welfare Bum" and the article from the LA Times "Romney no stranger to tax subsidies, benefits" and many, many others like it to say that Romney stuffed his pockets with taxpayer dollars, but is against poor people doing so.

The GOP should have went with Newt or Santorum...

Personally, I liked Perry the best. His time will come.

How about marrying the father? Marriage has been proven to be the statistically greatest deterrent to poverty.

Except then we wouldn't have people dependent on government. Never mind...

For all we know this has all been scripted in advance.

Obama has an idea. Unemployment benefits for the employed.

What do you think?

How long before the GOP caves?

I think the federal government should pay me for washing and cleaning out my car. In addition, I deserve money from the federal government for doing my own laundry. It’s REAL WORK — don’t you know? ( And I have to do my kids laundry and wash dishes too.)

As I see it!!! Romney is the Republican Nominee for President. Obama whips his butt on 11/6/12. The country is controlled by a tyrant and for four years it will go through times the founding fathers never dreamed could happen. It will be at that time, 2016, when the citizens of this country will have a choice. Continue under the government controlled communist style of government or go back to what the forefathers had set up. I think by then more and more citizens won't know or understand the difference. They will be getting their pablum daily and will be content to let the government do everything for them.
I say this by observing the favorability of Obama at between 41% and 48%. It is a definite indication that the 41% realize that he is their gravy train. They either work for a government agency of some sort, are union members or are on welfare. They are outnumbering the working class. That's why the administration let slip the fact they will not be delivering any messages aimed at the middle class white blue collar worker. Suckers!!! Good Luck USA.
Hopefully there will be divine intervention. Amen.

First thing you need to remember is that those numbers are SPIN or what we used to call propaganda. They ain’t real. The left hopes some people will buy into it.

Think about, do you know anyone, anyone outside of liberal politics or MSM who openly has a favorable opinion of nobama? Why, of course not, because unless you overly poll dems and go door to door in Holders side of town, you won’t find many likers.

The kenyan is going down like hitlery in Columbia.

In other words, they want the women that made good choices and stayed with their “baby daddy” to go get a job to pay taxes so that other women who did not make good choices can stay home and not have to get a job.

Idiot dems, errr Marxists...

Some decades ago someone proposed that stay-at-home mothers receive social security, even though they paid nothing into it.

A woman wrote a letter to the newspaper (no Internet then) saying, “When I get home from work, I have to do everything that these women have all day to do.”

Case closed.
