April 24, 2012. Des Moines. Two networks yesterday, CNBC and MSNBC, broadcast a little known fact Ron Paul appears to be winning the Republican nomination for President. When the popular Texas Congressman repeatedly assured supporters that the race was about delegates, not beauty contests, he apparently knew what he was talking about. Now, after three more states locked in delegates to the GOP nominating convention CO, MN and IA indicators point to a brokered convention with a possible, even probable, Ron Paul victory.
Good.
The good of this is that maybe Romney will think twice about Conservative values and voters. The actual odds of that are minimal.
Even if he is pushed further to the right (center to most of us) he will push back. That will make it more likely that Obama will win again - heaven help us!
America will lose either way it seems!
The sad thing is that a bunch of posters here actually think this might be true.
LOL. Some Paulbots are smoking too much reefer.
This is the most insane piece I have read from the Paulites in a while. A Warren Harding Strategy? Pure lunacy.
Until after he is elected.
That is why I am for a brokered convention ... mayhap we can nominate the one we want rather then the one the MSM wants.
Lol!!!
whachoo talkin bout willis
ditto
In MO congressional conventions this past weekend Ron Paul earned only 4 of 24 delegates. This is when according to the Ron Paul people, they were going to (depending on who you listen to) have either more than 50 % of the delegates or 85% of the delegates. They then blamed the results on low Paulbot turnout. — Yeah the most dedicated grassroots supporters of any candidate — WHO WERE HAND PICKED TO BE THERE! — somehow didn’t show up. Instead we are to believe that the Ron Paul faction loaded their slates with Ron Paul delegates (who didn’t show up) and Romney/Santorum alternates (who did).
More likely the Ron Paul people are now subject to believe their own propaganda and BS. BS that is designed to a) discourage the opposition, b) encourage the Paulbots, and c) keep the money flowing to Ron Paul for his retirement fund.
Was this originally published on 4/20? If it was, it would explain a lot.
Only the stupid ones.
And
2) If MSNBC and CNBC really ran with this story, they are dumber then a box of rocks! That may explain a lot of their hiring choices...
I have a bridge for sell... Not going to happen
OK by me.
Romney needs only 320 more more delegates to cross the 1,144 vote threshold to secure the nomination.
If the Ron Paul campaign had actually wanted to pursue this strategy, they should not have spent perhaps millions of dollars on attack ads against Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, on whom Paul would have had to depend, in order to help him keep Romney from getting his 1144 delegates.
IOW... Doh! Duh!
Look, I despise Romney and everything he stands for.
But the Paultards are not going to wrassle this nomination away from Romney.
Ron Paul would make an excellent president if there were no such thing as other countries...
this is Ron Paul’s third try at becoming a Presidential nominee...
he has struck out and it is over for him...
too old, weak, and frail...send him to Texas with his wife to smell the flowers..
his time has come and gone...
Ron Paul will never be President. If he can force an open convention, then more power to him, but I don’t see it happening - it’s been obvious since the Virginia ballot debacle that the fix was in.
Well I hope something happens because Romney is now dumping Conservatism as FAST as he can.
Heck yes. The fix is in. The elites in all f Washington will never allow him access nor will they ever allow a true conservative to be Prez. Any of you that think it can happen are peeing in the wind.
If the Texas SREC approves a rule change allowing for a state-wide winner-take-all primary provided the candidate gets a majority of the state-wide vote, Romney could pick up a large portion of the delegates he needs at the end of May. I really don’t think Republican primary voters in Texas will vote to make the nomination drag out till the convention even if Romney isn’t the first choice of most of the Republican voters in Texas. I think that with a late national convention, it would be suicidal to drag out the nomination process till the convention.
Agree. . .
Meth Head Morons....
You do realize that Meth is hazardous to your health, right???
Only if Ed Sherdlu drops out of the race.
Oh! The fantasy world of those living on the Unicorn Farm!
While many political analysts are calling Ron Pauls current journey a mirror image of Hardings 1920 trek, others arent quite convinced. As reported on SNL, Weekend Update.
Ron Paul’s a monomaniac, worse than Obama. I wouldn’t trust him for Dog Catcher.
“they should not have spent perhaps millions of dollars on attack ads”
You got that right. I had some sympathy for Ron Paul until he ran those vile adds down here, worse than any the Dems have run. They know to tread lightly as they need to attract a few who don’t vote party line. How stupid can you be to run such adds in the primarys?
This guy is on drugs. Good drugs but still drugs. LOL!!
Delegate counts Hard and Soft etc
