A kitten born with his legs back to front and abandoned by its owners has been given a new lease of life after pioneering surgery.
Corky was found by little boy dragging himself along a pavement in Fargo, North Dakota, and was brought into an animal pound, where he was due to be put down.
But Gail Ventzke and Carol Stefonek, co-founders and directors of CATS Cradle Shelter, heard about the brave moggy and were intent on saving his life.
Seven-month-old Corky suffers from a congenital deformity called 'Bilateral Arthrogryposis', meaning his back legs were the wrong way round, and also crisscrossed like a corkscrew.

Great Kitty story
What a sweet face.
Isn’t it? Just want to kiss it! lol Very intelligent; you can see that too.
God bless that kitty and the people who cared for him when nobody else would.
What a sweet kitty. Love is all over that face.
I’d like to see this catwalk. nyuk nyuk nyuk
Thanks for the ping! Just as I was about to say it's all hopeless, along comes a story like this...that reminds me of what good there can be...
Such a sweet furbaby and smart too!
Did you take a look at the other pics? DM has some more on the site that are really good.
Not worth the money that went into repairing it, should have just put it down instead.
My pleasure. What a trouper!
Just like th elderly and handicapped right?
“Just like th elderly and handicapped right?”
It’s just a cat, please don’t equate the lives of humans to those of dumb animals. Or if you want to do that then go over to DU where most non-thinking liberals are.
If someone wants to spend the mone that is their choice. Not only that these types of surgeries can be used as analogs for procedures on humans.
Yeah, and if somebody wants to spend the dough then it’s up to them. You may think it’s a waste of money, but the government spends more on less deserving creatures every day, and that’s money they took from others. I don’t begrudge private dollars for animal welfare.
It’s a nice story. As long as it doesn’t involve funds confiscated from taxpayers, who cares if it makes sense or not?
Wow. Made my day. Thanks for the post.
LOL. Boy. You have a heart of gold, dontcha. Geez.
