It is so hard to be "up" on America anymore. For the first time in my life I really REALLY don't like my country...

The government looted and economically gang raped the American people.

A good deal of this I attribute to the wanton slaughter of over 45,000,000 humans in abortions. Tens of millions of them are not here to pay taxes, need services, provide services, etc. Since Soc Sec is a Ponzi scheme, just where in the hell did they think the money would come from.

I understand that 30-40 years ago, 33 people were putting in money for each person getting Soc Sec. And now it's down to 3-1.

I really think we don't consider the awful damage these 45,000,000 abortions have damaged our economy . . . we just can't see these 45,000,000 contributors because they've been slaughtered.

And our so-called “representatives” sit by and do nothing but continue down the road to ruin!

Me

We lost the republic our founders gave us LONG ago but no one, including myself, likes to admit the fact!

Who would have thought the GOP nominee would be a democrat.

And not just the money.

Grandparents used to live with their families and they loved new grandchildren and passed on wisdom and stability and God to the younger generations.

All lost due to social security.

Very true. That's why grandparents always had those big ole 5 bedroom houses. One plus to the crappy economy is the fact that my family is pulling back together in a lot of ways. I've found that I enjoy Christmas with the family a lot more now that we're all broke.

Lead us not into temptation. We’ll find it on our own.

Well, as Nixon took us off of the gold standard in ‘71 with the observation “I am now a Keynsian in economics”—anyone who was paying attention. (Not me though—I was learning how to talk.) My Mother says it hit her when watching the results come in during the ‘64 election. Looking back—I’d say no later than Roosevelt’s third term we were headed in the wrong direction with no clear path for turning things around.

After watching Rumors of War III, Target U.S. I’m sure socialism isn’t the #1 enemy. Romney better be begging Col West to be his running mate because he 100% understands what’s going on.

I swore I wouldn’t vote for Romney but after this documentary I’ve changed my mind. Obama has to be thrown out. There’s no doubt in my mind that he’s following his Muslim roots all the way.

It isn’t tens of trillions of dollars but more like hundreds of trillions (about $130 trllion right now) for all unfunded liabilities.

Deficits of over $200 billion per bloomin’ MONTH, and a culture that has descended into a virtually unimaginable, mind-bogglingly putrid cesspool, and populace that has turned into government-dependent collectivists. And to top all that, the damned GOP is serving up a Massachusettes liberal as its presidential nominee.

Does have sort of an “end days-ish” tint.

I did!
My Momma told me when Nixon took us off the “Gold Standard”. She looked at me thru her cat eye glasses, “In your lifetime, you will see the $ become worthless. That’s when a dollar had two lines.”

Bingo on the abortion point! This why I think neither party wants to do anything about illegal immigration.

1964 War on Poverty - Lyndon Johnson
1966 Times Magazine “Is God Dead”
1973 Roe v Wade

etc, etc, etc . . .

Its roots came in 1932 FDR New Deal?? arguably

Well since by 1972 the US had been attacked by the statists three times,

1. the progressive attack of 1913 to 1921,

2. the New Deal of the 1930s

3. the Great Society of the 1960s.

So if the US does not survive “hope and change,” I suspect not that many aware in 1972 will be shocked that it was a statist attack that finally did the US in.

Actually the republic was lost when one “honest” Abe Lincoln was allowed to walk all over the Constitution during the first 6 months of his first administration in order to prosecute his war of subjugation.

That opened the door through which every progressive since has walked.

I would agree that Lincoln opened the door—but Jefferson unlocked it when he decided to drop the proposed constitutional amendment that would have given the federal government the power to purchase land and to pursue the Louisiana Purchase under the power to make treaties. Economically, a great deal for everyone immediately involved—buying Spanish Territory from France for a steal—but making it much harder for the strict constructionists to maintain their position. If the federal government can find a penumbra of powers under the treaty clasue, what is to stop them from finding things in say, the commerce clause? If he had waited for the amendment to clear, we may or may not have ended up with the land, but he would have put strict constructionists in a much stronger position.
