ATLANTA (CBS ATLANTA) -
A Smyrna family is heartbroken after giving their dog away, only to find out the new owner is now trying to "flip" the pooch.
Dog flipping is when a new owner receives a dog or animal for free and then immediately tries to sell the pet for a profit.
After posting the ad on Craigslist.com, Divina Mims thought she found the perfect home for her Chihuahua, Munchie.
"I just wanted him to go to a good home and money was not something I was trying to get for him," Mims said.

*Mims said she believes she is a victim.* ...no need to read past this statement..geesh.
If she was so concerned...why doesn't she offer a substantial amount [more than asking price] for the pooch?
Sounds like none of their business. It ain’t your dog anymore.

bad ju ju. i was given tickets to a game and one of my bosses wanted to buy them at a high cost for a client. i refused since they were a gift.
I’m waiting for the humorous picture to show up from a comic Freeper on “Dog Flipping.”
Buying a dog???? Who the heck does that?
Bingo. Dogs are property, just like a used car, the new owner is free to dispose of it as they wish. If you want to make sure the dog has a good home, then keep it and treat it well.
The only “dog” flipping going on around here is the end result of bending over backwards to satisfy my canine masters.
But it’s worth it, they keep the cats away.
List the dog for a price, then give it away to whoever responds.
Is this anything like dwarf tossing?
Obviously the only way to fix the Scourage of “Dog Flipping” is to pass whole reams of new laws and create new governmental organizations to enforce them.
We'll appoint you as the new *Dogg Flippin' Czar*
Unscrupulous people scour the want ads for free pets. The lucky ones get advertised for sale on CL but the others may get sold for research or worse:

If the new owner really wants a dog for a pet, chances are he’ll at least pay a small fee.
I saw the title and thought this was going to be an Obama dog pancake thread...
Yesireee. Youbetcha. I did my graduate degree thesis on *dwarf tossing*. Good times. *sigh*

***Exactly. We could call it the *Munchie Law.***
M-m-m-m! Munchies for Obama!
This is just a guess, but I imagine the person who pays cash for the dog will give it a better home than the person who gets it free.
