Barack Obama: Tearing Catholics to Pieces
American Thinker ^ | April 29, 2012 | Keith Riler

What is a liberal Catholic—and especially a minority liberal Catholic—to do? Personal corporeal subdivision is just not an option, and even if it were, which parts would be minority, which liberal, and which Catholic? Alas, the challenges to the integrated human posed by the president's dehumanizing and divisive class/race/gender/religious warfare! …

Catholics are united over very big things, things that should bind through adversity. Catholics believe in one God, the Creator. We believe in Jesus Christ, born of the Virgin Mary, true god and true man. We believe that Jesus suffered, died, was buried, rose, and ascended, and that in doing all that, he saved us. We know we are sinners, but more importantly, we are adopted sons and daughters of God, brothers and sisters.

Almost out of the blue, cracks of Catholic disunity and discord have appeared. I recently heard the incredible story of a man who stood up during a homily, yelled at the priest, and then stormed out of Mass. Likewise, consider this from one progressive Catholic website:

It makes no sense to say that the bishops themselves can decide this, that we should accept their religious authority because they say God has given it to them.
And this from a recent letter to the editor:
In fact, I see the Conference of Catholic Bishops as essentially the right sectarian arm of Republican conservatives.
Viewpoints and attitudes like these have become increasingly common, brazen, and disrespectful following President Obama's HHS contraception edict and his much-publicized comment that "[m]ost women—including 98 percent of Catholic women—who have had sex have used contraception[.]"

This 98% statistic has been debunked many times over, but what business is it of the president, anyway? …

The columnist sounds a little demoralized. Alarmed, actually.

What is happening is hardly unexpected and has caused quite a revelation for the tepid— that the sheeps clothing has been removed to reveal the wolves in the Church.

There must be a bright line between the sheep and the goats and it’s actually starting to glare it’s becoming so bright. The dissidents are known now, and are openly at odds with the magisterium, Tradition, with Sacred Scripture itself, with every ancient under pinning of the Church, in favor of modernism and “the trend” for protest and self-interpretation, where evil is called good, and good is called evil.

Martyrs blood is the seed for the Church. Our Lord fits in nowhere in the US culture, and even less in society at large. We are despised because He is despised. If we are not despised, we best speedily repent and reform.

That fact was known long ago, is known today and predicts its own end. We must be serious Catholics, and by God’s Grace and the Holy Spirit and our own petitions, we will be.

What is a liberal Catholic—and especially a minority liberal Catholic—to do?

What are they to do? Accept that they are not Catholic.

Catholics believe and do what the Church tells them to believe and do.

Period.

If you don't do that, you're not a Catholic.

Period.

Don't believe me? Ask the Pope.

As I stated the other day . The Democrat party means more to Catholic Democrats than their religion.

I have brought up the subject of abortion to many friends at my Church who are Democrats, and they excuse it, they excuse homosexuality,, they make excuses for Obama care an they vote for the Muslim.

Politics has become their religion and to be honest, I don’t know why they even bother to come to Church. They take Communion and come right out of Church and deny that Obama is the great abortion advocate that he is.

I’m not a Catholic but two things occur to me. First, if “liberal” Catholics have to make a choice between their belief in G-d and the musings of a politician, they’ve made a bigger choice than perhaps they realize.

Second, the Kenyan would have had no chance against the Catholics of the ‘50’s or ‘60’s. That he can bully them today and seem to prevail says more about the Catholics of today (and perhaps all mainline religions) than it does about the forces arrayed against them

Frankly speaking, it is about time that the line be drawn in the sand to all Catholics and Christians at large. As a Catholic who has lost her way quite a few times in my lifetime, this was the line for me. It has brought me back to the church. With my warts and all, this is monumental to core beliefs. It thrills me that in the 2 Churches that I visit, they are speaking up at the pulpit. You see, part of the problems that I had in supporting the church was the decision making that included, “Social Justice”, defending illegal immigration, and of course the big one, Priests that shall we say, were questionable...Now it seems that the Core Leaders(Pope,Carninals, and Bishops) are coming together and saying that they had better clean up their act, cause’ Obamacare is going to cause an uproar in their house.
God puts us all to test daily. We choose to accept his challenge or ignore it.
I have decided this time, it is my duty to accept the challenge and defend him.
