LONDON (AP) -- There will be a retro feel at a concert to mark the start of the 2012 London Olympics, with 1980s heartthrobs Duran Duran among the headliners.

Organizers said Tuesday that the band, which had hits three decades ago with songs including "Rio" and "The Reflex," will represent England at the July 27 concert in London's Hyde Park, which features acts from each of the...

If you can't get the dead drummer, the next best thing is an aging boy band.

” the next best thing is an aging gay boy band.”

Fixed it for you! First time I saw a vid of these guys, my gaydar went off the charts. Maybe Boy George can fill the “backup” band position?

Ha. I worked with them many moons ago. They’re far from gay.
Good on them — and no, they don’t lip sync in concert. They play live.

Andy Taylor (original lead guitarist) has been out of the line-up for years. He was dying of throat cancer a few years ago, but I think he’s in remission now. It would be nice for the band to invite him back, at least for this big event.

They’re far from gay.

True. And Freddy Mercury was gay as hell.

However, I enjoy the music of both groups. When I listen to music, I never think about the sexual preference of the band members. (well... unless it's an all girl band. Then that's all I think about)

As said to Tom Cruise in THE LAST SAMURAI... Too many mind.

my gaydar went off the charts.

That was likely due to a difference in the culture of the U.S. vs. the culture of the Europeans.

Over there, being 'flamboyant' is not a sign of gayness. Look at the regal outfits of national leaders over there. Like Khaddafi. Pretty gay outfit don't you think? Heck, at the beginning of our Republic, our leaders wore long wigs and embroidery laced frilly shirts. How gay is that?
