ASPEN, Colo. -- Federal forest officials are thinking of using hand saws to break up the carcasses of frozen cows that died inside a cabin at 11,000 feet near Aspen.

The U.S. Forest Service had been exploring whether to burn the cabin or blow it up with explosives to get rid of the cabin and the cows. But a plan explored this week involves using hand saws to cut up carcasses of six cows frozen inside the cabin and four or five buried in the snow outside.

Forest officials wanted to remove the carcasses before they thaw.

I bet.

Just get the smoke jumpers in there with their chain saws.

Still thinking about this???????????

Geez... get 10 people and some rope, and just yank them out. Break off the parts that stick out too far.

what a buncha dumbasses.

EXPLOSIVES????????

this sounds like my little kids when they are too lazy to clean their rooms- they invent idiotic and stupid ways to get out of doing a little work.

Send me $10K for expenses (rope, block and tackle, chainsaw) and I’ll do it myself this weekend

Some talented people turn chainsaws to ice and make ice sculptures of cows. So, if instead you have a chainsaw and a frozen cow, what do you do?

Whatever it may be, doesn’t sound like a lot of fun.

Chain saws and hand held band saws are used in meat packing houses all the time.

You ever have a dead moose across a dirt access road ?

This really isn’t that big a deal.

I know they use chain saws on rails.Never seen them use a hand held band saw,but times have changed since I worked slaughter house. We knifed everything then busted it down with a hand saw.

This is starting to sound more and more like the plot line of a gross out comedy.

“We have to get them frozen cows out of the cabin before the spring thaw, Leroy!”

“But how we gonna do it, Axle?”

“How’s about we blow ‘em up with dynamite?”

Colorado officials can never, ever, be accused of brilliance, or even minor intelligence. I think they’re inbred :(

Awhile ago they spent over $200,000 to move a rare bush from the median of a highway over to the Presidio in San Fransisco. I imagine this cow removal will approach the $1 million dollar mark easy. I wish I were joking.

And guess what? That “rare” bush can be purchased at any of the areas local nurseries! California politicians sure know how to spend the taxpayers money wisely.

Build a temporary aquarium around it. Fill it with salt water, put a couple of sharks in it, and they will take care of the mess. See there . . . easy . . .
