I really don't recall the exact model. It was a station wagon, probably a 1957, that looked a lot like this one. . Something was seriously wrong with the way the front suspension was engineered and a collapsing front left wheel almost did me in:

Every year there is a bike race from the valley floor to Kaiser summit. 9000ft climb on a bicycle. It is considered one of the top races in the bike world. There is a lookout at the top of White Bark summit that is about 10,000ft. From there you can look out to Lake Edison and Lake Florence which are about 7000ft. The summit is also the trailhead for Ershom-Dusey 4 wheel drive trail. It rivals the Rubicon trail.
