I have the highest respect for the Army Airborne. They were and still are a brave bunch of warriors. Your father and his brothers and cousins served with dignity and humility. May God bless them.
They were a good crew, my old man and my uncles, good Lord they were 55 feet tall to me. All gone now, but for memory. Good folks, that whole generation. And man, could they drink!!! Holy cow....
Good Americans...they loved the country, loved the people, loved and lived the ideal. Came home, picked up their lives and lived them for as long God gave them to do so, and played the cards that were dealt them without complaint.
We need more of that, now. More than ever.
This story reminds me of that...and why it’s important to never, EVER, give in and give it up.
