My brother has just been diagnosed with ALS(Lou Gherig's disease). I would like to request Prayers for him.
You have my prayers.
Sending prayer for your brother, you and all of the loved ones and all those taking care of him medically.
Very sorry for your brother’s diagnosis. My friend’s aunt had it and my husband’s grandmother. Not that your brother requires repayment, but maybe the savior/caretaker roles will be reversed now. Best wishes to you and your family.
May the Lord keep a gentle hand upon you both as you now have to walked that path. Pray for strength to be at your bro’s side and be of comfort for him. HIS best for you both in the days to come.
One of my best friends (68) was just diagnosed with ALS a month ago. Prayers to both of them.
man that sucks, not a lot of hope yet.
Get b12 d3 levels checked, often neuro problems show low levels. Also omega 3 not omega 6 can be helpful. Not a cure but maybe a little more time.
Thank you and thanks to all FReepers who offer prayers. I can hardly type now so I will not be able to answer everyone personally. Thank you all, FReepers are wonderful people and I can’t tell you how much this means to me.
Prayers for your brother.
4 little ones will be praying for him tonight!
Your big brother will always be with you~~in the love of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Prayers for you and your family~
Thanks to all of you, I am breaking down now and starting to cry, first time I have done that since I heard the news. You all are touching me so much. Thank you so much.
You got it.
calex — may I ask your big brother’s name? I like to single someone out when talking to The Lord, altho the Good Lord already knows.
His name is Glen Alexander and he lives in California.
Prayers flying heavenward right now for your brother and for you. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus cast His blessings on both of you.
crawl through ctdot gov and see if he can help advance the knowledge base.
Prayers up for all.
Indeed, adding prayers.
Once again, thanks to all of you. FReepers are the best people.
Many prayers up... God Bless..
Prayers for your brother and family.
Many prayers up... God Bless..
Prayers being said.
calex, I’m sorry, so very sorry. I have an older brother who I adore, too...and I’ve always said losing him will be probably The Hardest Thing I’ll ever have to do.
Someone upthread said that maybe it’s now time to reverse the roles and YOU take care of HIM as he taught you all those years. Make him laugh, in spite of this. Talk about “the old days”....it’ll be good for both of you.
I’ve pinged Logan’s and trussell’s ping list, we’ll be praying for all of you.
And now you are there for him, as I am sure he knew you would be. I will pray.
These thoughts toward you and yours will give but a moment of comfort. In the end, you will be doing what I just did. Send a note to the next person under the same circumstances. That will sustain the comfort.
I am so very, very sorry. Brothers are special. I will pray for a miracle and if that is not to be...then I will pray your many memories of your times together and all the times he “saved” you will be what brings you comfort and peace. I wish I could change this for you... but... I CAN pray and will for him this evening.
Prayers offered. As Churchill once said, “Never, never, never, never, never, never, never, never quit!”
Just said my meager prayers for him,,,,,,,,,,,,............

You will find help here for your brother Glenn. Go to the Community tag where you can type in the state where he lives and see what assistance may be available for him there. There are wonderful, caring people who are eager to help. The support in the Philadelphia area was amazing for a friend who had ALS. We will add him to our prayer list and pray for both of you every day. You are not alone.
Regardless, I wish him the best.
Yes, he is a veteran in the sense he served in the armed forces, never in a war.
In all things we endure, God’s good will and purpose wins at the end of the day, and it’s always for the best.
I’m now fighting a rare form of cancer, but I can see that I now can relate to others who are enduring something similar in a way that will aloww me to lead them to Christ’s salvation. Something I could never do before.
Have faith, and know that our prayers for you and your whole family will be there.
God bless you always.
I read just the headline and started to pray. I lost my best friend to that hateful, ugly monster disease three years ago. Spend every possible moment you can with him. My heart goes out to you and your whole family. Hopefully he has applied for social security and medicare. A small blessing, but it gets immediate approval.
I’m so sorry. Prayers for you and your big brother are on the way. Please keep in touch, friend.
I will pray that he doesn't have to suffer. And I will pray that the Good Lord will give you Peace and Comfort when the time comes. In the mean time live each day to the fullest.
I’m very sorry to hear that. It is going to be tough watching his decline. Prayers for you and him.
once again, thanks to all of you for your kind words and you prayers.
Best to contact a VSO (Veterans Service Officer)ASAP!
I am very sorry to hear this. He will be in my prayers.
