Why oh why would we ever listen to NPR??? Why??? Full of socialist nonsense on the taxpayers’ dime.

The reason they do programming like this is to try and get listeners who will look beyond their marxist “news” programs and support them with their dollars.

Don’t do it!

Thanks. It's mostly healed but some cosmetic recovery is still happening. What a mess that was. I'm not sure what would have happened if Gina hadn't recommended Zanfel.

What's up in the north east?

What's up in the north east?

Around 60 degrees here but feels cool. No sun today... Biden just spoke near here the other day at Lafayette College. It was all over the local news.

I've been reading a lot lately to avoid watching political shows.

Smart move. We have the same weather as you.

I had a business trip to nyc this week, was next to the stock exchange during the Occupy May Day. It wasn’t too bad but it made you think.

We're lucky Biden didn't poke himself in the eye when he was speaking.

“Lafayette College students weigh in before Vice President Joe Biden’s visit”

Tony Rhodin | The Express-Times
Wednesday, May 02, 2012

“It’s a good thing for the college,” Adam Chernicoff, a sophomore from Harrisburg, offered about Biden’s impending speech, which the 20-year-old planned to attend. He figured the vice president would focus on the economy and its impact on young people both from a global and a national perspective.

When asked if Biden would make one of his famous misstatements, or perhaps just the opposite, Chernicoff, who is studying history and government, said the vice president would say “something smart.”
***
Connor Ortolf, 20, of Ocean City, N.J., was at first hesitant to speak, but then he said, “I think (Biden) is coming here to mobilize young people” who will be the key to the president’s re-election try.

Ortolf said he thinks Obama’s done “a good job (considering) the position he was put in,” starting his presidency in the depths of the worse recession in 80 years.

As for Romney, the economics major — who said he didn’t get around to buying a ticket for tonight, which made his friends laugh because the tickets were free — said the GOP standard bearer “is out of touch with the middle class.”

Luckily we didn't. When we were leaving on Tuesday the nypd had set up barricades all over broad and wall and while they were in good humor I got the impression they were ready to brawl. By chance we stayed at a new hotel and the walk home was fine. There were traffic back ups and the staff from the building had to fight their way through protesters to get to the subway though. This is my favorite picture from Tuesday.

Wow, Vision! It sounds like you had an interesting week! Those dirtbag, ingrate punks! They have no idea that they have been blessed enough to be born in the greatest nation in the history of the world. Loser deadbeats! One day they will regret their ignorant actions.

Anyway. Your Tbone sounds good! We had wonderful beef ribeyes last night. Keith’s birthday was on the 3rd, so that was a belated birthday dinner.

Tonight we’re grilling some pork loin pieces that I have soaked in pineapple juice for two days.

The 9x11" hotel room was $289/night and had $40 of taxes on it. That's hilarious.

Happy Bday to Keith. Did he get anything good? Here's a pineapple pork marinade/injection I like.

1 1/2 cup apple juice
1 1/2 cup pineapple juice
1/4 cup Grand Marnier
2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
1/4 cup sugar
2 tbsp sea salt

Oh, that sounds awesome! I’ll have to make a note of that recipe and try it.

Keith did not get anything except a really nice mushy card from me. I put it inside his laptop after he went to bed the night before, so he found it first thing in the morning on his birthday. He loved it. Other than that, the steak dinner was it.

Those were posted by SteelYourFaith, who is taking a leave of absense from Free Republic.

You can still find many synposes at this site: http://radiogoldindex.com/frame1.html

For a few weeks after SteelYourFaith left, I tried to do the synopses list like he did, but I kept running into shows I could not find. He did such a good job.

Maybe I should start trying to do the synopses list again.

taking a leave of absense from Free Republic...political infighting

Thanks for the update. I know how he feels, I think. I've wondered about that myself lately although it looks like FR may have softened its stance for ABO/OMG people like me.

Anyway, thanks for your input and your posts like this one - and those summaries were done well.

Oh, I don't stress about this. It's just something I liked, too, and I miss Steel's presence and his synoposes list.

I think it's a good thing to do, and I'll try to do the best I can. I don't know his sources and mine would never be as good as his, but I'm pretty good at Internet research--that's how I do my columns.

No...NPR has been doing this kind of thing for far too long. They need to be on their own dime...and when you support them by listening you are engaging with them...it’s not ok to use the taxpayer dime to dish leftwing propaganda.
