Skip to comments.Has the GOP-E co opted Ann Coulter?

Trent Lott famously said "We don't need a lot of Jim DeMint disciples," Lott said in an interview. "As soon as they get here, we need to co-opt them." - and I know what I think.
I want to know what you think. Has she(Coulter) surrendered to the progressives within the republican establishment?
Ping, what say you?
Just my 1/2 cent. To a lot of folks, it isn’t about establishment versus Conservatives, it is about victory first and they see victory as the old, who has the most money paradigm.
What they can’t see is the paradigm is changing. Look what happened to Luger.
There’s only one thing Annie is looking out for: herself.
Bingo. It's just some freepers didn't notice that until she hitched her wagon to Romney and he won the nomination (she endorsed Romney in '08, but her fan club here simply ignore it and pretended she was "for Duncan Hunter" because said some nice things about him)
Nothing's changed about Annie, except some vehemently anti-Romney freepers woke up.
Coulter matters not.
What matters is what the Senate GOP told DeMint after the 08 election....that his issues and legislation would “rot on the counter, like a piece of old fruit”.
Conservatives should have nothing to do with the GOP.
A. Ann has deeply infiltrated the Gay Media Mafia, or
B. The Gay Media Mafia has used Ann to infiltrate us.
The Breitbart split with Drudge/GayCPAC/Ann bears this out.
She has a pathetic need to have people talk about her.
Even when she isn’t talking crazy there is nothing insightful in her writing.
It is well worth ignoring her.
Her two big go to guys were Mutt and Christie.
You do nothing for me. You and the other two bit opportunistic phonys out there like the toe suckin Dick Morris, Morning Joe, etc etc. Have sold out.
The only way we turn this country around is with real conservatives...who have a creative instinct...And who understand where we’ve been as a country and where we should go.
A year ago you told us Romney was a loser... now you’re behind him all the way...
Your boy Romney will cave the first time he chooses a SCOTUS. Mark my words...
I sleep sound at night knowing I have no control over things...that I have no control over... only myself...
I won’t spend another 10 cents on anything you write...
Dittos to that. She’s always been focused on her book royalties and celebrity status. She’s done some good things for conservatives but she travels with a Manhattan crowd that tilts far to the Left. She can be devastatingly funny but I’ve always questioned her basic conservative principles.
Ann is a.country club Republican who knows how to pose as a grass roots conservative to sell books. She’s very talented.
A close friend of my family is gay. We have known him over 20 years. He and his partner are members of the Tea Party. Neither believes in gay marriage, they are both pro life and share in the Tea Party’s principles. He doesn’t go to Church but he believes in school prayer.
I think this is the crowd Coulter is cavorting with.
Personally, I think she's had a pretty good ride on the conservative gravy train, but her ticket to ride expired and she got off at the last station.
Now, she can finally just be who she really is. The act is over.
I must have missed the memo.
What does GOP-E stand for:
Inquiring minds want to know.
All of the above.........
The first sign was when she called the Article 2 defenders “CRANKS” and used the KKK to make her point. Since then every other week or show she further shows that she is firmly a GOP-er.
She follows the money. Local conservative talk radio is in decline, too. It’s that old slippery slope that no one wants to hear about.
Local conservative talk radio is in decline, too.
Agreed! I rarely tune in and used to be daily listener.
It isn’t what they talk about, it is what they REFUSE to discuss. It is both BORING and INFURIATING! ( This includes Rush.)
Christie has appointed two judges who are in favor of Islam’s Shariah laws being “utilized” in US courts. Another way of putting that is that Christie is in favor of setting aside the US Constitution and the New Jersey constitution - subverting them - in favor of the application of the laws/regulations of a particular religion. Putting it more succinctly, Christie must therefore be in agreement with those constitutions being submissive to Islam.
Ann Coulter is infatuated with Christie; she is no conservative.
No USA-respecting conservative - no USA-respecting citizen -can be a fan or supporter of Chris Christie. If Romney picks him for VP, he’s no better.
In agreement 100%. Our local conservative, “all-talk radio” station is now carrying all Cardinals’ baseball games - so Hannity, Beck, Savage are all pre-empted. Previously the Cardinals’ games were on the “Rush” station, so he’s free and clear.
But as we here all agree about - and fume about: they’re not doing their jobs anyway, because of what they won’t discuss. What’s really disturbing - alarmingly so - is their uniform reaction when they hear the words “eligibility” and “natural born citizen”. They truly react - ALL of them - as if they were warlocks suddenly exposed to daylight and a cross in one fell swoop!
Romney is making an azz out of her. Last week she was bragging about how Romney is soooo conservative on illegal immigration. This week Mittens says he’s not so sure what he’s going to do about illegal immigration.
I know what Mittens is going to do. He’s going to do the opposite of everything he said he was going to do during the primary election.
What I need is an idiot comprehension cource. I come across so many and I never can figure out what they are babbling about.
Romney doesn't strike me as someone who would want to be overshadowed in office by someone with a more robust personality.
Romney does seem to be unusually aggressive in his ego's quest to rule.
Ego's generally don't make good governors, so I hope I've misread him and his record.
Maybe Mitt wants Ann for VP
I agree. I think that, early on, she had found a profitable niche, and just ran with it. Ann is an entertainer. The role she plays is "conservative firebrand".
She was trained as a lawyer, and what lawyers are trained to do is make convincing arguments supporting the position that they're paid to support, without regard to how they personally feel about what they say.
