I fail to see a legitimate role for “drug sniffing dogs” in the WOT.

I do see something, alright, and I also see a complicit media reporting this enthusiastically.

I don’t have much to say, though, except a question: are these folks more akin to the Gestapo or the Stasi?

Of course the media are enthusiastically complicit. If they aren’t the state won’t let the media join them on their SWAT raids, which everyone knows makes great TV. Local news, like MSM news, is entertainment, not genuine journalism.

Gestapo or Stasi? That’s a hard call. The “See Something Say Something” sounds more like the Stasi snitching regime, but the initials are SS/SS. The random “License and Registration” isn’t even as polite as the old Gestapo “Papers Please”.
