The President's Horrible, Terrible, Very Bad Week
HughHewitt ^ | 5/11/2012 | Hugh Hewitt

Rarely, in fact, has a candidate had as bad a week as President Obama did over the past Friday to Friday.

An awful jobs report was followed by election results in Europe that foreshadow the fall's rejection of the president, and then it got worse.

The hilariously overdone Julia made the president and his vaunted Chicago Team an object of scorn, and the president's imaginary friend won't be forgotten by Team Romney --well, forever. "Julia, Julia, Julia" will be the chant in Tampa Bay. Can we get a remix of Bobby Sherman's "Julie" please? Close enough as it is, but just a tweak will make it perfect as a reminder of the president's vision of dependency for all, power for a few.

Slow Joe Biden got out over his skies and tripped the president for the 50th time, and president fell hard, declaring for same sex marriage the day after North Carolina --a key swing state-- rejected the idea by an overwhelming margin. Even the president's cheering section at Politico had to admit the move hurt the president in pretty much every swing state.

Then the president jetted off to be with George, Babs and the Hollywood set, which Manhattan-Beltway media elites think is grand but which doesn't sit well with the 11% who are unemployed or so discouraged they have dropped out of the hunt. He did arrange to raffle off two tickets for the masses, which is pretty much how his economic policies have worked for the past four years. His close friends do well. The people he promised to help get a glimpse in the window.

Did I mention the polls? Everyone one of them which sample "likely voters" is full of terrible news for the president, and Gallup's the worst news of all, and it was of registered voters.

Mitt Romney had his challenges of course, assailed by 50 year old charges that he was the popular kid at his high school and bullied someone whom no one had ever heard of during a Senate campaign, a governorship campaign and the first presidential campaign not to mention 30 primaries. America shrugged. That's it? That's all Obama can gather on Romney? And what exactly did the president do during his high school years, and college years, and as a "community organizer" and at Harvard Law? That wasn't a productive door to open, but these are desperate times in Chicago.

So desperate that the president's friends leaked delicate national security info to try and make the boss look competent with regards to something. A very good thing that the good guys penetrated the bad guys and got the vest and blew up a senior terrorist. A very bad thing that we know about it.

Oh, and Israel is moving to war footing. And the Euro is staggered and dragging our markets down. And Dodd-Frank didn't stop J.P.Morgan from blowing a couple of billion any more than it stopped Jon Corzine from blowing much much more.

The president's in a political free fall, but his pals in MSM don't/won't see it. Instead they write about Mitt Romney's problems even as the former Massachusetts governor has brought the GOP together behind him --what, no "brokered convention"-- and even as he moves from Obama-indicting backdrop to backdrop, this week with the Colorado oil fields that haven't been explored and tapped messaging to the country that gas need not be as high as it is, or unemployement as high as it is. Governor Mitch Daniels was my guest on Thursday's show --transcript here-- and his point about keeping the eye on the economic ball needs to be repeated every day to every GOP candidate.

Why is it that we hear about something Romney did in school 50 years ago, but rarely hear about what Obama did in school years ago?

I still can’t believe the media reaction to Obama and homosexual marriage. The media tends to give favorable coverage to Obama, but, the reaction of the media to the marriage announcement was so over the top as to be propaganda for the administration. You would swear that the allegedly independent media were actually working for the Democrat National Committee, based on their reaction to the marriage announcement.

I’m inclined to think this was America’s very horrible, bad week!

A desperate, unhappy and obviously vindictive Marxist in the White House is at his most dangerous, between now and the election, most especially with bad press, bad polling news and bad moods increasing, so his wicked efforts to finish us off before he goes.

He should have been impeached, but the fear was such a thing could not be done to the first black president and would backfire. But, seems we are doomed.

I am very concerned about these executive orders and binding international treaties flying. No one seems to know how binding they are.

Hollywood and the News Media are trying to shove Obama in our face for another 4 years. We should quit watching stupid movies and stupid news reports. These people must not know what they are doing!

I agree whole hardily with your statement.

He's starting to feel cornered and now wants to pull the trigger on every thing he can before his @ss is out of the white-hut.

Bill Clinton used to make me pound my head and scream at times but this guy just makes me sick period.

The president’s imaginary friends are the only ones that agree with his ideas.

The homosexual % of population in the States probabaly runs from 1-3% with the actual % being close to 1%

The homosexual % of the mediots on the left and east coast is very high. So any pro gay action by Obozo and Biden is a positive wet dream for them. Last night on the late news, one of the Gay Frisco TV teams was proudly showing the gay clothing that could be bought to support Obozo with their $’s and to wear. At that point my tv went off, and I’m sure that I wasn’t the only one saying, “Enough with this gay bs!”.

That's exactly it. Long ago, some pundit or social scientist labelled the media as "opinion leaders." They loved hearing that. And have been trying to live up to it ever since.

This spin on obama's announcement is an effort to shape the opinion of the masses. Their theory is if media figures repeat a position on something, the audience will be inclined to accept it as the right opinion. It worked for Walter Cronkite back in the day. It won't work for Katie Couric and Co. now.

I haven’t (and won’t) read Obummer’s book but didn’t he admit to felony drug use? Of course, we don’t hear about any of O’s rather serious peccadilloes ..... but high school pranks are news-worthy. Next, the LSM will report that Mitt used to poop his diapers when he was a baby .... ooooh, can’t have someone in the WH who used to ‘doo’ THAT!! /S

All this, and before the election no less! Dick Morris keeps pointing to the lame duck period AFTER the election and before Obama leaves the WH, as critically dangerous for passing crap by way of the other democrat election losers who will be equally vindictive. Geez, what WILL be left?

I thought a long time ago that, seriously, it is going to take some Democrats to get us out of this. We are not in the majority, they are. But, they are starting to come together with us, here and there. For example, over 100 of them in the House voted to cut off funding Holder’s thuggery, lies and witholding information. The trickle must turn into a stream soon.

And I am afraid it is going to get much worse.

He seems to be teetering to punish all his enemies as much as he can and as quickly as he can because he realizes the opportunity may pass.

At the same time, to preserve his power and opportunity to shape the nation in his warped image, he is giving away as many trinkets as he can to buy votes with our money and AT THE SAME time trying very hare to convince some of the weak minds amongst us that he is something that he is not... and I AM TERRIBLY AFRAID THAT HE WILL SUCCEED.

Meanwhile, here in South East Texas we are enjoying an immensely rare day of wonderful north breezes as I sit on the back porch, sip my iced tea, feed the squirrels and take a break from pleasant chores of the day while I hope for better days than these in our future.

IF obablaloon leaves the scene we are going to have the biggest bonfire blowout of our short history here. The scrawny SOBs likeness will be at the top of the pyre! I may even tip the jug a time or two in rare indulgence.

God bless you, big guy! I hope you get to have a blow out!

You know, reading through your clear eyed description of what Obama is doing and how he is doing it.....you have just described everything I ever learned about the Devil himself, and his tactics.

It was eerie just reading the common tactics between the two, because it is bang on!

The tactic of the left and the religion of the devil is nihilism. They both stand for nothing and only seek the destruction of that which they oppose.

They have nothing else to offer. Oh sure, trinkets and temporal things but nothing like self-determination, equal OPPORTUNITY, self-esteem or ever-lasting life.
