"The Big Broadcast is a Sunday night tradition for families throughout the WAMU listening area. Each week, Big Broadcast host Ed Walker offers listeners priceless recordings of popular radio programs from the '30s, '40s and '50s. Priceless, especially, for a man whose first sentence as a child was, 'Turn the radio on.' "

I've got an early Mother's Day dinner and will be home sometime in the 8 o'clock hour.

Like that Lux with Ginger Rogers.

You’re welcome, Papa! SteelYourFaith’s sources had a little better synopses, but these beat a poke in the eye. :-)

Good evening everyone! Just got back from a very nice family celebration of Mother’s Day at my sister’s house in NJ. The weather was spectacular!

I'm doing OK. The barbeque-banter between you and Gina usually makes my mouth water. I've got to figure out how to be at the right weight and still eat good stuff like that.

:)

Beautiful weather this weekend. Got lots of stuff done around the yard. Just back from a dinner with Mom in downtown DC.

Well, they threw us a curve ball. It was a good Gunsmoke called “Moon” but it didn’t sound like the episode in their description.

Well, Papa and All, tonight we are getting ready to grill two really nice, thick pork loin steaks on the charcoal grill with fresh mesquite smoke. I have been soaking the pork in a good, store-bought “steakhouse” marinade since yesterday. We will also put two big sweet potatoes wrapped in foil on the grill for the side dish, to be eaten with butter, cinnamon and local honey.

Papa, you can splurge once in a while on a barbecue, surely! :-)

Good.

You could hit the gym 3 days a week to work off the food like I do. (:

Yesterday I smoked some pork and pastrami. I tested a new injection and the pork turned out too salty, but the pastrami was good. Used hickory and apple, took about 10 hours.

You're right! I didn't catch that until you said it. Sometimes Ed does deviate from the posted lineup. Oh, well, we got to hear it as it unfolded without preconceptions. :-)
