Wow...RIP Donna.
I loved her singing, and the music was mostly positive and uplifting. God bless you Donna, You were an icon for the era. And if there are any haters out there, please keep it to yourselves, PLEASE.
The last dance....
She worked hard for the money.
And she didn't blow it, like Whitney.
Before she cleaned up her act, she did one of the naughtiest, but non-graphic songs ever, the original Love To Love You Baby, which runs almost 17 minutes.

This was extremely popular among US Army Special Forces, for one.
She’s a local girl, I know the neighborhood where she grew up. She used to go back often, just a regular girl going to the pizza shop, etc. she never made a big fuss of herself, was always cordial to people in the street, signed autographs, talked with people, never let fame go to her head.
I just saw this and am stunned. While I didn’t like disco much, I appreciated her talent.
I went to youtube, listened to “I Feel Love”, and had to stop it before I got teary.
Thank you, DS. Resquiat en pace.
She had some great stuff (hot stuff baby!)
Just read where the suspect was lung cancer allegedly from post-911 contamination while in NYC. Wow, if true.
Rest in Peace, Donna!!
Love to Love You, Baby (1975)
RIP Donna, as a kid and a 2 left footed waiter, after we were done for our shift, many a waitress taught me to dance to your music. Thank you for the fond memories...
That explains why the gays turned on her...notice that the gays adopted Cher as their icon from that era, instead of Donna. Which makes no sense really, unless Donna said something that ticked them off, or she wasn’t willing to be a “fag hag” for them.
A lot of her early disco songs were overtly sexual but she became a Christian sometime in the early 80s and her later music took a more positive and uplifting nature.
I just received a notice of this on Fakebook. Do I press the “LIKE” button?
RIP
I should’ve seen her down at Coney Island a year or two ago for the free summer concert. I don’t remember why I didn’t go. Probably some dumb reason. Ah, well.
OMG! I just saw this on Fox site. Can’t believe this - she’s only a decade older than my “disco-queen” sister.
No matter how she felt about her “title”, I LOVE that stuff and every time 1 of hers plays (including on our own CDs) I yell, “It’s DONNNNNNAAA!!” It’s the soundtrack of my childhood.
Incidentally, recently read up on her and glad she had a little run-in with the homos. Too bad for them. I never knew about that until this year. That and these articles dredging that up shows how only now is it “important” what homos think. I never heard such a thing decades ago. But now, we HAVE to stick it in there like it’s some caveat about her.
So sad for her and her family. God bless.
