I delivered the faculty graduation address last weekend at the University of California, Berkeley’s Goldman School of Public Policy. It’s one of the nation’s best and the reason is its emphasis on rigorous data analysis. Any public policy wonk worth her salt must be focused on data in order to replicate policy successes.

Let us examine just how much of an example Granholm set regarding how liberal government policies impact job creation. Under Granholm, the Michigan economy lost an incredible 630,000 jobs and Michigan’s Per Capita GDP fell from 24th to 41st. In fact, Michigan’s unemployment averaged 37% higher than the national rate throughout Granhom’s years in office. All of this happened while Granholm was imposing many of the liberal policies that she is now claiming are huge job creators."

Let’s not fall for the way Granholm frames the issue. Let’s look at who has created job:
Henry Ford “invented” the mass production assembly line and created the most jobs of anyone for the next 70 years.
Bill Gates “invented” a way to market operating systems and software and has created the most jobs of anyone in the past 30 years. Bill Gates never invented the best operating system, nor the best application software. He invented a way for others to invent it. He created the most jobs, not just in the USA, but in the world. He turned 3rd world disaster cases into 1st world wonders in 25 years.
That Bill Gates is a liberal Democrat and the son of far leftist lawyer and activist is irrelevant. Bill Gates used capitalism..the invention of a marketing gimmick... to generate those jobs.,
