The ever so modest Phillip Phillips won "American Idol" Wednesday night, and while some say it was well deserved others have insisted that the show is "rigged." After the Georgia hometown boy won "American Idol" Wednesday night, many came forward and insisted that that enough was enough on the singing show, which according to some is clearly "racist."
"[In the] last 3 in finals, one was black, who was the best singer, one was brown who was also great singer, one was white who was a karaoke singer; guess who won, the white one of course, when will America stop being racist?" RRedBird commented on Yahoo.
Other news publications also pointed out that Phillips is the fifth consecutive white person to win in a row. The New York Times suggested that perhaps the cause was a fault of voters.
"Mr. Phillips is the fifth fundamentally sensitive white male singer in a row to win the show, a fact probably indicative more of stagnation in the 'Idol' voting base than in a resurgent interest in tepidity," reporter Jon Caramanica wrote.
It has been pointed out however, that more often than not, those who are successful on "American Idol" are most often from the south.

Did these folks have a problem with the Dancing with the Stars results? Just wonderin’
So sick of these race hustlers in the media.
I want to complain to the NBA since the last 5 MVPs have been black.
nor American women in international pageants too
© ? .. lol
As a sop to my ex girlfriend I watched the final show each season but since the relationship ended I am Idol freeeeee!
I know enough about AI to not feel sorry for those who didn’t win. Winning AI doesn’t mean you are the only one who will profit from being on the show. Each of the top 3 will do just fine (maybe even others who didn’t make the top 3), if they make wise choices. Throwing race into the mix is just plain ignorant.
African American are 12% of the population but 33% of the American Idol winners.
Winners don’t exactly have a great track record (Taylor Hicks, anyone?).
Whites are simply the majority in this country. Whites also elevated Obama to the Presidency. I see more prejudice in the people who will NEVER vote for anyone else because they refuse to vote against their race. I’m sure a lot of white people voted for Jessica too. Maybe they should give her a trophy so she doesn’t feel bad.
Pro sports are racist! Most athletes are people of color and white folk are in the minority. As for Idol, maybe they should just have this as first question on the application: Are you White? If the answer is yes, you’re automatically disqualified. That will make the racist whiners happy.
I never watch American Idol but this year hearing Jessica Sanchez sing Whitney Houstons I will always love you gave me the chills. She is pure talent. I knew she had to win.
Then I watched the show once and saw the others. Many of them had stepped it up and they were also very good. Jessica was supreme in my mind. But she could not move out of her comfort zone and I thought that might be a problem.
As second runner up she will be out there and making some money I think. One other thing she was the ONE save and if she had won I think that would have caused some problems.
Ya...I always dig the ones with the crazy eyes.
“Whites are simply the majority in this country.”
Of course. But that does not explain the full disparity in real achievement I pointed out.
Rocks was an awesome album. Yeah, that song was beyond lame.
Right. They should have gone all out and said:
Other news publications also pointed out that Phillips is the fifth consecutive white person to win in a row, back-to-back, one right after the other.
Then it would have been clear.
“On the flip side, you ever notice that white women dont win beauty pageants anymore?”
Indeed. The pageants are run by PC judges who anymore care more about pleasing their pederast homosexual friends in Hollywood than about anything regarding actual feminine beauty.
