I'm a Bob fan but for the life of me I CRINGE every time I hear Just Like A Woman. It reminds me of Annie Hall:

“ Skinny Chick: I covered the Dylan concert, which gave me chills. Especially when he sang “She takes just like a woman yes she does. She makes love just like a woman, yes she does And she aches just like a woman But she breaks just like a little girl.” Skinny Chick: Did you catch Dylan? Woody Allen: Me? No. No, I couldn’t make it that night. My raccoon had hepatitis. Skinny Chick: You have a raccoon? Woody Allen: A few."

Infidels is a favorite of mine but I enjoy most all of Dylan’s albums. Blood on the Tracks and Desire are also favorites.

Never understood his popularity. He always sounded like an Alfalfa falsetto with a mouthful of peanut butter.

I'm guessing you've never really listened to him other than a few songs. Dylan's singing was quite varied throughout his recording career.

It's so strange to find people at this site, of all places, praising him!

Why is that strange? Who do you consider worthy of praise on this site?

Indeed. They should be praising Barry Manilow, Helen Reddy and Kenny G. !

And to think he could have stayed playing keyboards in Bobby Vee's band! Take good care of my baybee...

Incidentally, today would have been Josif Brodsky's 72nd.

Yeah, Helen Reddy.
Seriously, songs like Tangled Up In Blue, Positively Fourth Street, Like a Rolling Stone, Mr. Tambourine Man and so many others are, to me, incredible.
Also, folks who like to pigeonhole Mr. Dylan as some crazed liberal (far left wing) are just flat wrong. He is neither crazed nor liberal.
In my opinion, and on this one I am not humble, Dylan was/is the best songwriter of my lifetime.

You're being too kind. I think it is even worse than that. I'm a contemporary of Dylan. I grew up not far from him. In college, I lived on 5th street, a block north of his "Positively Fourth Street" lyrics. I consider his singing intolerable. Some say his poetry is good, but to me, his singing is so bad that I can't get past it to understand the lyrics.

And it gets better (the songwriting and singing) the closer you get to today. I love his recent albums.

Blood On The Tracks ... is pretty durable

Brazilian production banner RT Features buys film adaptation rights to 1975 Platinum selling record.
